"The location is close to the beach access and less than 1 miles from Wright memorial. A lot of nice bar and restaurants in the area, some at walking distance, mostly located at 5-10 minutes drive. Bill is a wonderful host and he has treated us very well, breakfasts were amazing, every day a different surprise. Everything super clean, the B&B has been built in the ‘46, perfectly maintained, porch and garden in the backyard amazing! Warmly recommended"

"Stayed here four nights in July and it was fine. Look, this is not luxury, but its "affordable" for the OBX in the summer. Some of the previous negative reviews I think are a bit unfair. First, the hotel is not "filthy" nor "disgusting." While it could use a little paint, the elements certainly batter all structures on the coast. There is a musty smell in the rooms which is because of the significant and constant humidity. If you dont want humidity and the accompanying issues that come with it, dont come to the OBX in the summer. Yes, there is water on the ground outside the rooms. That is because of the air conditioners each unit has. I would imagine that people would complain much more if the rooms did not have an air conditioner... I found the staff helpful and attentive, though my room was not cleaned one day - I could live with it. The breakfast is basic but more than sufficient and, critically, the coffee was strong and not weak like most hotels. You are right on the beach, so there is going to be sand, and bugs. If you dont like these things, perhaps dont come to a beach. The pool was refreshing and welcome after sweating on the beach all day. This is a good value hotel, particularly for those, like me, who need it to sleep, shower, and keep your stuff at. I would suggest spending the extra money for a water view room which I was able to move into the last night upon request. Very nice views, and much better than the parking lot. "
