Jonathan Studio Apartments

This little gem of a place is situated on the beach road. Fairly small ( only 14 apar**ents ) but has absolutely everything you need for a relaxing holiday in the sun. The rooms are big, king size bed, plenty of sockets and storage space. The bathroom is adequate and the shower is excellent-always hot water The kitchen facilities are basic but kettle and toaster worked well for us and fridge was nice and cold. Hairdryer, air con and safe all included which is unusual. Good WiFi signal in room and out by the pool too. Bus to Kos city stops outside and costs €2.10 each way. Supermarket each way- about 5-10 minutes walk and a 10-15 minute walk to where all the bars start. We enjoyed the stroll down each evening for a meal and the road is well lit for walking back in the dark. Minas Katarina and Chrissie were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they kept the gardens and rooms spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend.

My review may be unusual. A weeks holiday, booked in February was cancelled days before departure in September. That left us with very little choice for our holiday in Kos. I guess you could call this a very poor review. No apology or contact either.

1* is generous for this hotel. If you want to have a stressful holiday experience, then I would highly recommend this dive. Our holiday was totally ruined. From the moment the jet2 coach dropped us off around 11pm, we had trouble. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) and we were told our room had an “electrical fault” so we would be in 2 separate rooms for 2 nights until other guests checked out. This was not acceptable so we decided to sleep in ONE BED, as a family of 4 for 2 nights until the other guests checked out. The owner hadn’t informed jet2 of the electrical issue as she didn’t want to pay any money out to them. Pure greed. So we lived out of suitcases for the first 2 days then my husband had to transport ALL of our stuff to the next room by himself whilst I looked after the children (not one single member of staff offered to help, up and down flights of stairs). We were offered a free breakfast (absolutely dire) and late check out for the inconvenience. Lo and behold, on the last day, they wanted us to check out at normal time (12pm) to move to another room as they had more guests arriving. Obviously not happy with this (3rd room in 7 days), so I told them that we wouldn’t be moving until just before our transfer home. They made us wait 2 whole days and 2 nights for our room, so I’m sure they could make the new guests wait 5 hours. Apparently, not the owners problem and again, I had to take it up with jet2 (so, so lucky that our jet2 rep was helpful). We got picked up at 5.15, and there was NO SIGN of new guests, so why did they want us out of the room at 12pm..? Owner VERY rude. Conveniently, she was nowhere to be seen when we checked in, and the CLEANER had to check us in. Self catering facilities absolutely awful, not even a tin opener. A 1 hob camping stove. Stains on towels and beddings. Rooms need a good scrub. Poolside and pool just as dirty. The little hut where they serve food and drinks from is run down. Rusty nails all over the floor. Edge of the pool was like razor blades. Staff just sit around drinking alcohol all day. Quite far out from the *****, around a 20 minute brisk walk which is difficult in the heat (especially if you have children). But location not too bad if you don’t mind the walk. Very eery if you come back when it’s dark. The ONLY positive I can take from this hotel is the fact that it’s across the road from the beach. I would avoid this hotel, unless you want your holiday to be ruined. Take your money elsewhere, there’s MUCH nicer places on the *****. Owner is just plain and simple GREEDY, only interested in money and doesn’t want to know when there’s problems. As she said, “not my problem, take it up with jet2”. Don’t make the same mistake as us, I thought we were going to have a lovely time looking at the reviews but this is one of the worst holidays we’ve ever had, all because of the hotel. Nice little place to stay, right across from the beautiful beach. Apar**ents and pool area clean. Website states facilities include restaurant, so such thing is here, there is a small poolside bar serving limited drinks and snacks, snacks are only available for a limited time whilst one certain member of staff is there (not all day, and quite unfair on her). Staff are nice enough but seem to mostly want to sit with regular visitors who can be quite intimidating if others happen to be on "their" sunloungers, with comments and sly looks. Would be lovely if there wasn't such a cliquey a**osphere.

Jonathan Apar**ents are fabulous. We were warmly welcomed by Minas who showed us to our sea view apar**ent. Apar**ent is spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is lovely with a strong shower and complimentary toiletries. Kitchen has a good range of equipment, enough for making basic meals and snacks (nice big fridge). Bed is very comfortable and feels like a king size. Room is cleaned daily (apart from sunday) with fresh towels provided. There is air-con that we used intermittently as preferred to utilise the lovely breeze. View from balcony is beautiful as you can see the beach, just across the road. We did use the pool a few days and it was clean, with decent beds and shades. Pool bar supplies basic range of drinks and snacks. Having a car helps you get out and about the island but it's only a 5 mins walk to a supermarket, a few more mins onto a selection of great restaurants and another 10 onto the main ***** of restaurants, bars and shops. It's the best of both worlds at Jonathan's, peace and quiet with a picturesque beach but within easy reach of places to eat and night-life if you want it. We definitely return here.

Jonathan Apar**ents is the perfect spot to stay if you want peace and quiet, but that's also walking distance to the restaurants and bars in Tigaki. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the pool and surrounding area. Rooms are cleaned every day, except for Sunday, and the bathroom also had complementary shower gel which was lovely. Bathroom towels were a good size, and the shower water pressure was very good. I prefer not to use air conditioning, but it was nice to have the option to turn it on when getting ready in the evening. The garden and lawns are pristine and beautifully maintained. I had a garden view room, and put a mosquito coil on in the evening before going out and had absolutely no issues with mozzies. Minas and Katerina who work there are wonderful and so helpful. I had to leave at 4:30AM to get to the airport on my day of departure and Minas arranged a taxi for me that arrived early so no issues with such an early departure. I highly recommend Jonathan Studio Apar**ents and I will definitely be back!

Warm welcome from Minas and Katerina on arrival and a friendly goodbye on departure. Minas helped us with our luggage and showed us to our studio and went through the basics with us. Large room (More like a small apar**ent than a studio) Plenty of sockets but none near a mirror for shaving. Balcony not very private due to ground floor balconies being sunk into the ground and no dividing screen with the adjacent studio. Very efficient air con plus a safe which are included in the price. Also a hair dryer, Iron, Kettle, Coffee machine, Toaster, portable cooking ring plus all the basic utensils. Bathroom not the smallest we've had but not very large either. Powerful shower with a curtain that actually reaches to the ground! Room cleaning service was every day except Sunday and was very discreet and unobtrusive. Location is good for the beach with the nearest supermarket (Which always had everything we needed) around 5 to 10 minute walk and Tigaki resort around 20 minutes. Lovely swimming pool and always plenty of beds. This is due to most guests preferring to use the beach or explore the island rather than spend all day around the pool. However if all the rooms were occupied and if everyone stayed in there would be nowhere near enough beds for the amount of rooms. We found the pool bar lacked a**osphere possibly due to the laid back approach of the staff. They weren't always available to serve and the drinks selection was very limited. However that may be just a personal feel that we had. All in all though a lovely 2 weeks and we would highly recommend.

We arrived at 22.30 to be welcomed and shown to our apar**ent, which was first floor looking out to well kept gardens, the pool and sea. As it was late we settled in and had a couple of drinks on the balcony. After a very comfy sleep, the bed is HUGE (normally used to two singles, with hard mattresses pushed together when on Greek hols) we opened the patio doors to get a day light view - wow, and it is truly beautiful. Everywhere is kept very clean and cared for (our apar**ent front door looked a little tired from the inside but a very minor detail and in truth took no notice thereafter), the bedlinen and towels are changed regularly, with bins everyday except on a Sunday. We always received a friendly wave or good morning from the couple who run the accommodation, and while we needed no assistance, any guest who we saw seeking help/guidance looked to be cared for. We enjoyed our time by the pool, never a rush for sunloungers, and as others have mentioned it is literally a walk across the road to a lovely beach. A very natural beach with no sun beds, but to us that made it more appealing. It can get busier at weekends with local families setting up for the day, but again this we enjoyed. Mostly the beach was peaceful and the trees being used for shade if needed. You can walk out in the sea for quite some time before it gets deep, as you enter it can have a bit of sea**** but it didn't deter me, and I can be a bit of a wuss with that. Perfect spot for sunsets, a supermarket is within an easy walk, bigger ones are available further in Tigaki itself but the one local stocked everything we needed. The apar**ent has a kettle, toaster and a one hob cooking plate. Not a huge amount of utensils/pans but enough for me to able to rustle up scrambled egg and toast one morning. We didn't eat at the pool bar, there generally was some custom for breakfast. We bought the usual cold drinks/water when by the pool during the day and can give a thumbs up to the white wine. A generous pour @ three euro's. We thought we would have a lovely break in the sun, didn't expect to be considering changing our plans next year to go back. Even if that isn't the case, we will return at some point in the future.

We were met by Minas when we arrived at 10.00 pm and he showed us to our apar**ent and explained how everything worked. We met Katerina in the morning, they are the loveliest people. We had a garden view apar**ent which was spotlessly clean, the bedding was changed every other day and the towels daily except Sunday, but hey everyone deserves a rest day. The bed was firm which we like and the pillows were the best. There was enough kitchen equipment for preparing breakfast and lunch, not sure about an evening meal, we ate out every night. They even helped us to organise cycle hire for the duration of our holiday which we thoroughly enjoyed as Tigaki is very flat. The aircon and safe was included in the price which was a pleasant surprise. We had a great holiday and hopefully will return.
