オテル ラ タレンテイズ(Hotel La Tarentaise)

We travelled with Crystal ski holidays to this Hotel. We had a good holiday since the location on the slopes and the ski area compensates for the service we had at this hotel. We arrived late due to flight delays and had a cold meat and cheese platter in our room but no drinks were available at all. The breakfasts were acceptable but the general apathy amongst the staff was poor throughout. The rooms were clean but sp****ly furnished, only a wardrobe and tv table and tv, but no remote control. The evening meals were the biggest let down, we had to select the meals from the limited menu which by the end of a week we were bored with, plus it then took 45 minutes to get a starter out the main course took a further 20 minutes. If someone who knew how to run a hotel took charge it could be a real gem, but for now it is not.

It's not the same Tarantaise we remember from the Mark Warner days. Very tired. Bathroom light didn't work. No bedside tables or lights. Only half the window had been cleaned. One roll of loo paper provided - we had to raid a cupboard for loo paper, soap, etc. Worst of all was this incessant mechanical hum all through the night. It kept us awake. On the first morning the breakfast was so bad we complained, and it improved slightly after that. Nothing hot that was edible though. The dinners were OK but availability was limited. They only had two red wines available out of about 6 on the wine list (the most expensive). Beer was a total rip-off at £10 a pint. The staff were just not interested - not properly trained and to be frank quite incompetent. They were always changing and we hardly saw the same staff member twice, apart from the manageress/waitress who was nicknamed "the ice maiden" as she was always miserable and so unhelpful. No driers in the boot room which was insecure (never locked), dark, dank and smelly. No meal on arrival or anything for breakfast on our departure. OK so it is a fantastic location, which is why we booked, but we couldn't go through that again...

Right on the slopes. No question about that. The ski / boot room is round the back but they didn't mind you walking through the bar with skis and wearing boots (which is a bit odd). The ski room has no boot heaters, the floor is worn out and the lighting is terrible. The major let down is that there is NO WIFI in the hotel. You have to use your mobile phone data. The rooms are clean, a generous size, but very tired. A lick of paint doesn't hide the faults and cracks etc. Light switches cracked / broken so you could see the metal parts inside them. We had three rooms, each with reasonable double and single size beds. We had ONE beside light and one bedside table between ALL THREE ROOMS until we asked for more. We only ever ended up with one light per room so two people reading in bed was not possible. There were only 3 or 4 UK TV channels, if that matters. A motor, fridge, pump, not sure which ran all night and was very loud while you were trying sleep. The staff were friendly and the food started off well but got worse as the week progressed with things running out. It is a cheap hotel and it really does feel that way. Slopes-wise, great, but otherwise very shabby-shabby (no chic here) 1980's. I could go on but I can't help but feel that the new owners are keeping it going until they probably knock it down and start again. No doubt they will build something fab. but expensive, but this is the 3 Valleys, so to be expected.

All the hotel staff are very nice and they provide good services and good advise on the local guide. Good location, ski in and ski out. The room rate is over price and the room is very basic decoration, no sofa, no bedside table, no sofa tea table and also no WiFi. The food in the restaurant is amazing. When I booked the hotel, they mentioned free WiFi provide.

Came in to watch world cup final… what a lovely bar, great beer, such friendly staff really working hard to make the evening great.. outside and inside fires.. cracking venue, and on the slopes Think it’s the old mark Warner hotel refurbished…

Scruffy but clean. No lift and no help with luggage with room on the 3rd floor. Really really poor Wi-Fi despite there being good connection everywhere else on the mountain

Une arnaque cette hôtel en plus madame Lewis fait travailler les gens s’en les payer n’y contrats cela vas faire 1 ans elle veux toujours pas me payer il faut être mauvaise pour faire des choses comme ça faire travailler les gens s’en les payer

Que dire une chambre digne d’un hôtel IBIS budget mais pour le prix d’un 4 étoiles, plus de 540€ la nuit + 25€ de parking par jour en extérieur. Dans la chambre il n’y a que le stricte minimum ( pas de mini bar , aucune connexion wifi dans l’hôtel ) les lits sont sur roulette donc ils bougent sans cesse ( même pas des roulettes autoblocantes) Une carte des vins au restaurant quasi inexistante. Un seul employé qui gère l’accueil , le bar, le restaurant. Au restaurant , il faut réclamer la carte des vins , de l’eau gazeuse, du pain , bref l’unique employé n’est pas formé pour gérer correctement les clients . mieux vaut trouver un hôtel de qualité ce qui ne devrait pas manquer sur MERIBEL. je vais avoir une bonne discussion avec notre agence de voyage. Seul point positif , l’hôtel est très bien situé sur Meribel Mottaret, skis aux pieds. Mais si il ne fait pas beau vous ne prendrez aucun plaisir à rester dans votre chambre.

Madame Lewis est une escroc. J’ai travaillé là-bas avec ma copine pendant presque deux mois. Elle nous a jamais payé et elle nous a bloqué. Non seulement elle nous a pas payé et on a travaillé sans contrat jusqu’au jour d’aujourd’hui. Elle nous a toujours pas payé pour ceux qui veulent aller travailler là-bas n’allait pas, elle fait travailler, l’enfant des gens sans les payer dieu te vois madame Lewis il faut vraiment être mauvaise pour faire des choses comme ça sorcière
