A hidden gem tucked away in the small streets of Bakuo, less than 10 minutes walk to Jokhang temple. This hotel is honestly the most unique place I have ever stayed, it used to be the home of Lhasa’s King Gesar, turned into a museum.
The hotel staff we very friendly, had a nice family feel and I was coming home at the end of every stay. The two cats at the reception area are a highlight of this hotel.
They do a daily incense burning ritual around 9ish, which got to take part in. If you’re interested, head down to the courtyard before that time.
If you’re looking for a modern hotel, this isn’t the place for you but if you’re looking for something with history and heritage, this is definitely the hotel for you!
Just something’s to note, not the whole hotel has lifts. Check with the hotel first if the room your looking has lift lift access first if thats a concern for you. And the room did not have a fridge, but we hanged our stuff outside the window as it’s so cold 😅.
Thanks for an amazing stay, definitely recommend!
Grear place, beautiful fourniture and very quiet and calm. Two walk distance from the tourisic street and few good restaurants not far. Internet worked pretty weñl even on the 4th floor. There was a TV but i didnt turn on so i dont know what they offer.
Reception was amazing!
Clean and bathroom ok.
Owner are very friendly & helpful to provide extra service to support my beautiful experience. When the couple is so kind to suggest the best available way to go to airport & make me save money.
At the same time the suggestion me to go one hot spring which to me is an unforgettable memory.
Before I left, they gave me gift (unscented sticks & post card is totally out of my expectation. Helping me to carry my luggage’s are completely 5 stars hotel experience….hehe….🥰
I felt the whole hospitality is so wonderful & unforgettable to be.
So grateful for the owners & met beautiful people there too. 🙏🌹🥰
