On the whole I found The Bryson hotel to be very welcoming and served its purpose well. When we arrived it became clear that *********** had not sent all of our details over to the hotel. The reception team was quick to accommodate and update our details. We did need to come back down for an additional room key as only one person was listed as staying and there were two of us but not a major issue and not on the hand of the hotel. The entrance area was nice. Well cared for and easily navigated for anyone with accessibility needs. The lift is a good size for suitcases and people and quick to arrive, smooth operation. No jittery take of. I was a little disappointed on arrival to find that we had construction immediately outside the hotel. In fact on entering our room it was immediately outside our window. As we had intended this to be a relaxing holiday with long restful sleeps it had its inconveniences. While the workmen seemed to only start work later in the morning and shut down in the afternoon. We were still awoken several times by the loud digging noises. It would be preferable to have had the hotel let us know in advance and possibly offered another room. Instead we switched to ear plugs as moving rooms at that stage would be a minor upheaval after we had unpacked. The room itself was clean and well maintained for the most part. It had quite a lot of scuffs and stains, could definitely use a little TLC from management but from a housekeeping perspective it was perfect. The room itself was a little small but that is to be expected in such a central location. For the price I would have expected a little more space. I had called in advance asking if an iron and origin board would be in the room which when I arrived I found it was not. We also due to the issue of only one guest being booked had only one set of towels. We asked and both were brought for us without issue. It was noted that they would need to check if an ironing board is available. Which implies to me an issue with purchasing. One a little more widespread than the one in our room being damaged, one wider within the hotel itself. The electrics could be a bit confusing with an automated light over the door, a great idea for when you first enter the room, it would turn off unexpectedly too leaving the room in darkness if you hadn’t worked out the order of operations. The switch by the bedside turning on both a lamp and a hanging bulb at the same time that are right next to each other seemed odd and wasteful. Made it very hard to just have a balanced light across the room at night. There was also an extractor fan in the bathroom which the switch for was above the door, very awkward for most people to reach. The desk would have been suitable to work at, though the lamp on it was turned off and I had to crawl under the desk to turn it on at the switch. The TV above the desk however was mostly useless. Too far and not central to be watched comfortably from the bed and too close to b
