We can't speak highly enough about the staff here. Our son got married this past weekend and we had about 20 rooms here. We all felt welcome by the friendly front desk staff. Breakfast crew and housekeepers. We used the breakfast area at night as a gathering place to visit and play board games. Manager Steve was able to rent out the big conference room the last morning to us for a family breakfast. That was a good private spot to catch up with each other. We were really glad that this hotel had space for our guests. The location was also convenient to all wedding events too.
We have stayed at each of the Marriotts in Lynchburg at one point or another and were excited to give the relatively new Residence Inn a try. We found this to be our favorite Marriott in Lynchburg and would return here for future trips to the area. Rachel at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we checked in. The complimentary breakfast was well organized and frequently attended to as well. The room featured a newer Residence design that I consistently find quite comfortable, an open floor plan that still has defined areas and plenty of space. The room was very clean and in good shape, though starting to show some minor signs of wear. The bathroom design was the only thing that was a bit odd about the room, as the half-glass design of the shower created a mess no matter the water pressure. Location wise, the Residence is centrally located and only 5-10 minutes from Liberty depending on what part of campus you are visiting. Between the River Ridge Mall complex being next door and Wards Rd. one traffic light away, we had quick access to anything we needed. Overall, we had a positive experience and would keep the Residence in mind for our future trips to Lynchburg.
Just OK. We chose this hotel over others because of the free breakfast however, this was a huge disappointment. They were unable to brew enough coffee for the guests during breakfast hours so the coffee thermoses were constantly empty. Not a good way to start the day. We actually had to go elsewhere and buy coffee on the morning of our departure - boooooo
First, there’s a very nice view. The staff was friendly and accommodating and I was seated without a reservation. My server was Mason and he definitely made a difference. He and the bartender conjured up a lemony mocktail, as I requested, that was perfect. Then I had the stuffed trout, chock full of mushrooms and broccoli. Fresh and done to perfection. Side of gnocchi. All around, 5 stars. I had to run and Mason handled the check in no time.
ゲゲストI reserved a suite at this hotel from Dec 27 to 31. When I arrived, the last suite available, room 215, was left unclean with the door jambed open and master bed unmade. I had to relocate to rooms 509 and 511 for the first night, while being charged for both the suite and the new room, since there were 2 people in my party and we needed separate living quarters. For the last 3 nights, I was put in room 515, a suite, but never could find management to explain the double charge for the first night. Sadly, while in room 515, the master bath toilet leaked every time my friend flushed and maintenance had to come in and repair that while we were out. Now, after arriving home and checking my statement on my credit card, I can see that I was charged the original amount over two reservations. Very confusing. Having someone to talk to while I was there would have saved a ton of angst. I felt that due to the room change, lack of cleanliness, readiness and confusing lodging bill the hotel should've compensated me in some measure for the inconvenience and frustration. Since they didn't, I have no choice but to assign a poor review.
