My Stay at the AC was just fantastic! Great views from my room on the 7th floor great location and the service was amazing. Nat at the front desk was friendly and accommodating on check in. Matt the valet was also quick and efficient to pull up my car and was very helpful with my bags. Recommend the stay for sure!
We have stayed at this hotel in Madison three or four times over the past few years when visiting our son, a grad student at UW. The location is great near the Midvale mall and Target on the west side of campus where he lives. Rooms are large and well-appointed (we like the couch and desk addition from the Suites) and they are always extremely clean. The breakfast is also a big plus. This year, the first room we were assigned ending up having a loud industrial-style hum/noise coming from the A/C intake vent near the door. It sounded kind of like a compressor unit or something along those lines. It bothered my wife so much that she could literally not sleep the first night. We requested to move to a different room for the rest of our stay, and were helped by Alan L., the Guest Services Manager. He was amazing, just so helpful. He took us to a different room to see what it is like and it was a big improvement. He then offered to help us move our things and asked if there was anything else he could help with. He was just the model of what good customer service should be like.
This may be the worst Hampton Inn we have ever stayed at. We booked a king room and we got a small bizarrely laid-out, dark dingy room towards the end of the hall. We felt so light deprived. It was quite depressing. The bathroom fan didn't work. There was a small broken refrigerator (door to the cabinet with the fridge was off the hinges), no microwave and a small coffee maker behind the bathroom door in a very small nook. You can only make coffee in the bathroom with the bathroom door closed. We looked into a few other rooms that house keeping was cleaning and the other rooms looked more normal in size and more well lit. After the fact we realized we should have complained immediately about our room. We went out to dinner one night came back and our room keys no longer worked (infact they would no work to even get into the hotel through the back entrance). It took 20 minutes for the hotel personnel to restore access to our rooms , no apology. When we checked out and told the staff about our experience, all they said was , ”have a nice day”. No apology or attempt to show sympathy. It really was the worse Hampton Inn we have ever experienced. We definitely felt like we did not get our money's worth. Plenty of other places to stay near by, next time we are in town to see our daughter we will fore sure find another place. Very dissatisfied!!!
ゲゲストCheckin was easy, very convenient location right off highway and near lots of shopping. Using Navigation to hotel is tricky, it tries to take you through the block - just drive by where it tells you to turn and drive past the other name hotel and go around the corner, it’ll be easy to find then. Very good breakfast, chose from cooked your way eggs w/potatoes, or pancakes or French toast - all served with choice of bacon or sausage. Lots of parking!
AAmy LI had a room rented for a couple of weeks for my stepfather’s 90th birthday bash. On the day I was to travel, my mother called and she was SO sick, and meanwhile, my stepfather was having problems with his back to where he could barely move! I phoned the hotel and Vick, the general manager, not only refunded me most of the price for my reservation, he informed me of the third party vendor with whom I made the reservation on line and could not recall, but he graciously answered there questions about his name, and his title, which the “title” they did not tell me about the first time I called. So, a total of 3 calls to Vick! I stay at this hotel every time I see my parents. It’s very close to our family home. I have reserved rooms before only as Amy Cardwell, but I got married and my last name changed to Laster. That did not matter to Vick. He just wanted to help me! Thank you, Vick!
We prepaid for a room for two nights to visit our daughter at UW. I only chose this cinderblock hole because our prefered hotels were booked by people attending the home game. Our last visit, the tub and toilet were broken, but we booked late and were stuck. When I arrived, a smoker sat in front of the no-smoking sign by the lobby doors. The clerk rudely informed me that it was shift change.”I'm counting money. You can't be here, sir. Back off and sit in that corner.” Since my family had to use the bathroom and didn't want to wait, I took them to a nearby gas station. When I returned, the clerk refused me admittance, claiming I had been coughing and sneezing non-stop, and would contaminate the place. (I blew my nose once upon entry due to the heavy cigarette smoke by the door, and she sprayed disinfectant in the air on her side of the glass partition.) The insulting manager backed her despite the fact that I exhibited no symptoms during the entire discussion. I had to spend 1.5 hours on the phone to get my money back (in a couple weeks) WHEN THEY BREACHED THE CONTRACT. Motel 6 corporate refused to migrate my reservation to the other hotel of the same name in the city. By then, finding a decent hotel for under twice the price was impossible. Instead, I drove 4.5 hours back home in the rain. I had never been treated this shabbily in any hotel. Don't risk the abuse for a place this bad.
Stayed on a Saturday evening. Was initially impressed with the place. Cleanliness is valued. Check-in took a few minutes even though no one was in line. This establishment, unlike others, does not have check in paperwork printed out in advance. The front desk attendant stated their computer was acting up. Rooms had excellent hot water and a properly functioning A/C. I was super impressed with Dove products bathing condiments. Wow! My exhaust fan in the bathroom of Rm. 301 did not work. I had issues with the pool (see attached photo). The pool had a sudsy foam, which means your pH level are high and calcium levels are low. This can be caused by multiple problems. In your case, the pool needs to be ”shocked.” Secondly, and equally important, an employee needs to be knowledgeable on pools and certified. Also, encourage patrons to shower prior to entering the pool. The suds give the pool uninviting look. The lighting outside is excellent! Last, it's obvious your elevator is old. It worked fine. Not sure if its a regulation in the city of Madison, but hanging the earned certification paper copy with a date of expiration is truth. (annual one) proves your elevator is safe. Overall, I had a fair stay.
Great Value for Money: Considering the comfort, convenience, and quality of service we received, we felt that this motel offered exceptional value for money. Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way, making it a worthwhile investment in our travel experience.
ゲゲストThe room was filthy. Blood and other stains on the bed sheets. Laminate flooring was heaved and cracked the entire length of the room. Carpet was filthy, clearly not vacuumed and caked with dirt, dust, lint and food. The mattress was stained yellow. The paint was chipped off the walls. There was brown staining on the ceiling and walls. The painting was ripped off the walls leaving a hole in the wall and dangling hardware. Drywall was ripped off the walls in many places. The ceiling light did not work and was hanging broken from the ceiling. The bathroom tub was stained black and there was soap scum residue all over the walls. There was human discharge on the wall around the toilet. There was filth smeared on the dresser. Dust bunnies were caked in the wall lamp shades. The room stunk of mold. I am quite certain that we observed a drug exchange happen out of the room next door. Do not stay here. This place is deplorable. We left immediately. No refund provided of course.
