ベック ホール(Beck Hall)

I have just had a 2 night stay here. What a lovely little gem . the building is old and authentic with fires and pads for dogs to lie on . The staff are so friendly and helpful. I came though for the food as I have been vegan for 33 years and when I saw the first vegan hotel I thought I must go. I was not disappointed the food was delicious the Sunday roast was lovely and the cheesecake divine. To top it all this little hotel is set in a truly beautiful part of the country with spectacular scenery and walks. Thanks so much for for setting up a vegan green ethical hotel I felt truly relaxed I will definitely return

An absolutely wonderful experience! We thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of our stay and the fabulous plant based menu. We enjoyed a beautiful room surrounded by birdlife and a spectacular view of the beck. We LOVE the plant based menu, the staff were awesome and we made a stop at Beck Hall on purpose (from Australia) as we read about your transition to plant based online and knew we had to come and support you. The best of luck with your transition, and I'm sure you will find every success and support by the wonderful network of vegans (and vegan curious) around the world. Vegan, done well. I have been a vegan wholefood chef for a very long time and find it extremely difficult to find well made vegan food in England or Australia - all the Gold stars to you guys!!! Doggo friendly and relaxed enough vibes to make the stay thoroughly enjoyable. We will be back! Absolutely perfect. Location, rooms, menu, staff. Can’t fault a thing. We (mum and daughter, 1 vegan) stayed for two nights dinner bed and breakfast. The location is sublime - admittedly, the sunshine really helped. Very full and varied menu although we did notice quite a lot of “meat substitutes”. We avoided these in favour of less processed options. You can tell that there’s a lot of attention to menu detail. Almost everything we had was amazing. Breakfast tofu scramble wasn’t the best for us, the breakfast “sausage” was really salty and the ballotine was very chewy. A waiter explained that the owner is still learning so I’m sure things will get EVEN better. The breakfast pancakes, avocado smash, suet pudding, deserts and EVERYTHING else were amazing. A spectacular place to stay. Loads of local walks and safe place to leave the car. It was amazing that my (vegan) daughter didn’t have to think about a thing, just ordered from an extensive menu. Would have liked to try the afternoon tea but didn’t have room! Rooms were finished to a high standard and more than comfortable. They didn’t have any twin rooms available so put a very comfortable sofa bed in ours. The views were delightful. Plant based or not, this is a very special place and we will definitely return.

we all had such a fantastic stay here, the hotel is lovely in a beautiful area. all the staff were friendly & very helpful; they really made our visit, the entire experience was wonderful - we will be returning again for hopefully longer next time, can’t recommend this place enough.

Absolutely loved our stay at Beck Hall. The hotel is beautiful in a perfect position. It was fairly cold during our stay and the open fire was lovely to come back to after a days hiking. Our dogs were welcomed with open arms, the food was delicious and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

I had visited in September 2023, and thought I knew what to expect for this visit in April 2024 - wide menu, comfortable accommodation, friendly staff. The accommodation and the staff were still great, but the hotel is now 100% plant-based, so no meat on the menu any more. I had not done my homework properly and was not aware of this change. If you are already a vegetarian, you'll probably love this place. The menu is quite extensive and creative. But I normally eat vegetarian just once or twice a week, and didn't welcome the switch to 100% plant based. I respect that the owners can choose what they serve, and seek out the market for their offering, but I prefer to make my own choices about if and when I want to to eat vegetarian food, rather than be faced with a veggie-only menu. For this reason, I appreciate that I am no longer in the target audience for Beck Hall, and am unlikely to visit again.

Wow! We wish we had been able to stay for longer. We used Beck Hall as a stop on the way home following a holiday in Scotland and picked it for it's plant-based menu. What a treat to have a full menu of beautiful plant-based food. We ate a 3 course dinner and breakfast the following morning and loved every mouthful. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The guest 'snug' with a real fire was a bonus and we met like-minded couples and enjoyed conversation over drinks. The setting is peaceful and picturesque - in better weather you can enjoy drinks or food in the garden with just the sound of the stream and the birds. There are plenty of walks on the doorstep and a helpful guide in the room. Previous reviewers have commented on the parking being a short walk - this is a feature of the location and not something that could be changed and the owners have made the car park secure which is great. Other comments have been made about staff being grumpy. We found them to be down-to-earth with no pretension. We will be returning.

We had a great stay at Beck Hall. This was our first time at the hotel and it exceeded our expectations. We are not vegan so the food was a new experience for us. The meals were excellent and the menu was very varied at both breakfast & dinner. The presentation of the food was fabulous and the portions were very generous. The staff were very welcoming and attentive at all times. Would highly recommend the hotel.

The best hotel we have ever been to. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The food (100% plant based) was gorgeous and the menu was so varied. We ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and devoured everything we had. The staff went above and beyond to make us and our golden retriever feel comfortable. Massive shout out to David who was there throughout our stay and was very attentive. He is an absolute credit! We have already booked to stay again, we enjoyed it that much!
