The Palmyrah House

The room was great, plenty of space with separate shower and toilet rooms. Balcony was a good size with ceiling fan. The pool was nice, mostly shallow so it's not a pool for doing lengths in. The staff were excellent, very friendly and spoke great English. The food was amazing, cooked fresh every day with local ingredients. The staff would present that days menu options earlier in the day for you to choose from, we typically had 2-3 options and were there in an off-season. Highly recommend. Make sure you visit the donkey clinic!

Upon arrival, we were surprised by the vastness of the property and the paths through the indigenous vegetation. We had a wonderful room with a terrace overlooking the treetops, from where the start of bird spotting began. The staff could not have been mire delightful and my special tour, given by the manager early in the morning was indeed very special. The Donkey Sanctuary next door is a Must Visit !! The sensitivity to the environment is paramount and wonderful. The food too was totally yummy.

Disappointed, never again! The staff were friendly and courteous, anxious to please. Our room was spacious and clean. However the wifi was non existent, TV worked intermittently, they charge extra for some stations and the phone in our room did not work. The food choices were limited, very basic. The pool was dirty and the area unkept. The public washroom adjacent to the dining area was not clean. We did express our concerns to the manager, he said he would meet us at checkout but didn’t show up.

A decent stay but a bit disappointing to be honest. This was a family of 5 for one night. The room was nice although quite basic. The pool was not in good condition and no attendant nor phone was present. The dining options were limited. Overall the stay was somewhat disappointing as we had high hopes. Too bad because there is lots of potential.

Five of us stayed for three nights and booked a suite and a room. Great location. Fantastic service with guest oriented staff. Rooms were large, comfortable and clean. Bathrooms too were good. If we go to Mannar again shall certainly stay at the Palmyrah House.

Food is excellent . Chalets are situated in a natural environment. Rooms are fairly clean. Swimming pool is in need of maintenance as there were frogs and insects in it. The staff are helpful especially in guiding us to see the flamingos. Certainly will visit again because of relaxing surroundings.
