โรงแรมรอยัลนาคาเป็นโรงแรมที่ใหญ่ในหนองคายแต่ค่อนข้างไกลจากสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวอยู่ห่างจากด่านพรมแดนสะพานมิตรภาพไทยลาวประมาณ 1 กิโลเมตรไม่ใช่บรรยากาศริมโขงบรรยากาศค่อนข้างเงียบสงบน่าพักผ่อนมากๆครับ

Poor state of repair hotel in much need of restoration, doesn’t offer much value for money, lack of staff, lots of parking which it doesn’t need in my opinion, breakfast times are between 6-9 not really allowing enough time to sleep considering the bed is like a plank of wood I wouldn’t return car is a more comfortable stay.

A friend of mine and myself stayed in a room with two single beds for about 30 USD a night. The room was spacious, clean and auite. The woman at the reception spoke English very well and gave us all helpful information we needed. The breakfast was good. We choosed it because it quite close to the train station and my friend had to cath a train to Bangkok early in the morning. To go downtown where the restaurants and coffeeshops ar situated you need a Tuctuc or you have to walk for about 30 minutes.

Good location located on the main road.

It wasn’t so far from train station. Hotel Staffs are really friendly and kind.

this hotel is on the highway from Nongkhai city to 1st friendship bridge(Thai-Laos).although it's not on the Khong riverbank ,so no view of the river ,its convention center building at the back is very huge to accommodate hundreds of attendees with comforts. the room facitilies need to be improved for more convenient because the hotel is quite far from community and convenient store but if you don't have problem with online shopping , it's OK. there are no free instant coffee or tea in room ,althrough there are electric kettle and cups for these . The mattress is too hard for sleeping but it's OK for winter time like November .it's very hot during the day. breakfast buffet provides variety of food, esp. vietnamese food. like BanhMee, Khoa Peak Saen , etc. it's good for business convention ,but for travelling in the city without any transportatrion , it's not OK .=

We travelled up to Nong Khai for the recent balloon Festival and had a room booked at the Royal Nakhara Hotel. As we drove in to the hotel car-park, we were impressed from the outside. Check-in was quick and easy and when we entered our allocated room, it was obvious that the décor and furnishings were a bit tired and dated - but not a problem. However, as we looked around at the room and amenities we noticed several things to disappoint us. First, we saw an enormous birds nest sat right on top of the aircon unit outside on the balcony. The balcony doors were locked (with no key) so we could not even go onto the balcony, but as the view from the balcony was of surrounding metal factory roofs, we had no great urge to go onto the balcony anyway. Walking around the room and bathroom we noticed quite a lot of long black hairs on the floor, obviously from the previous guests and when checking out the bathroom, noticed toothpaste stains and splashes all over the washbasin mirror above and, human defecation waste around the rim of the toilet basin. It was obvious that the room had not been cleaned to a sufficient standard for the next guests. We really did not feel comfortable to stay here and notified the front desk, where a member of the management team and the housekeeper came to check on our findings. After showing them what we were unhappy with, the two members of staff went into the bathroom to discuss it but we could hear them talking and were shocked to hear that they thought we were making a fuss over trivial things. We decided that we were not comfortable to stay in the hotel any longer and asked to cancel the booking and we would find an alternative hotel. The staff initially refused to cancel the booking, then agreed, but said we would need to wait 15-30 days to receive a refund, which was not acceptable, considering that payment had been made instantly when booking the room. After further discussion and upon our insistence, the hotel did refund us the cost of the room and we sought to find alternative accommodation. We have no problem with a room being tired or dated, but that is no excuse for it not to be clean also, and the attitude to our concerns we heard being discussed ("its just only this, its only that") were simply not acceptable for a service industry facility.

The hotel is situated on a busy road is well signed and easy to find. It's location is good to visit the areas around Nong Khai, although it is long walk from the river front area and a tuk-tuk is needed. I didn't see any restaurants and bars in the nearby vicinity. Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant was not open for dinner (Covid restrictions), but the breakfast served here was excellent. It has ample parking space. The reception area is large with friendly helpful staff. The hotel is very well furnished and well decorated throughout. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, again well furnished; bathroom was very clean with soft towels and toiletries provided; quiet at night and the AC, TV and wifi were all very excellent. Overall a good place to stay on visit to Nong Khai - and reasonably priced . However a car or taxi is needed to visit the many delights that the town has to offer.
