We stayed two different times at Nana Vida Morelia and it was an amazing experience. We arrived late in the evening on the 29th of August is a rental car to learn that we had a flat tire and bent rim. The staff were so helpful! They helped us solve all the problems. The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. they served a wonderful breakfast the next day and provided us with everything we needed to have a wonderful stay. The building itself is beautiful as well but most important the staff is amazing!!!!
I went to visit Morelia for the first time and stayed at Hotel Boutique Casa Madero for two nights. The hotel is elegant, clean and reminiscent to smaller hotels you’d find in New York City. The lobby could use a little bit of an upgrade. It seems like the design is a little uninspired with a simplistic lobby experience. As you check in you will be greeted with a cluttered front patio and an open air front desk. The bell service is excellent and they’ll make sure you’re accommodated even if your room isn’t ready yet. We stayed in a junior suite room located on the first floor, just behind the front desk but tucked away a little bit. The room had high ceilings modern tv and lighting. It’s cozy but it certainly lacked any local design elements. The room was comfortable and smelled great. I believe it was very clean and well maintained. A few drawbacks with the room included lack of warm water in the evening. I’m not sure if the hotel had a low volume hot water system as I know the water would be warm early mornings but this issue was not unique to my room as two other rooms from our party had warm water issues. The cafe inside the hotel was attentive with an impressive kitchen cooking up your favorite local breakfast items. The pan dulces were very limited but the hand made tortillas with fried eggs and delicious salsas made up for it. You can’t go wrong staying in for breakfast. The drip coffee can be skipped as I watched them reheat an existing pot instead of brewing a fresh one. The hotel is walking distance to everything Morelia has to offer. Including the Cathedral, the parks and nearby eateries. My group walked everyday we stayed here. For your convenience there are at least three convenience stores within 3-4 minutes walk from the hotel. There are a handful of local bars with a super cool speakeasy directly across the hotel. Overall, this is a mid-tier value hotel with an attentive and friendly staff. What they lack in design and amenities they make up for with a cleanliness and comfort; which is sometimes all you can ask for as you try to experience what the city has to offer.
