The newly renovated large and long apar**ent is finished to a very high standard with upscale Grohe and Porcelanosa bathroom fittings, all looking quite immaculate. Location is second to none and all of Nuits is at your disposal in this area of an albeit small town. Breakfast was OK and the host is very affable. You can make tea and coffee all provided in the kitchenette which even has a washing machine. However, there are some drawbacks and it would be only fair to point these out and why they reflect the "average" rating I decided upon. Check in time at 1700 is way too late. I know it's not a hotel, but after a 6 hour drive from Dieppe after an overnight ferry, mooching about Nuits in sweaty clothes for three hours is a bit much. Mr Brabant kindly let us in at 1600 an hour earlier, which was some compensation, but bear in mind that you might have to wait most of the day to enter the apar**ent. It should be 1400 given the price point of 105 euros per night. Secondly, parking directly in front of the property is very limited and the spaces mostly belong to the neighbours. Again, the host very kindly conceded and let us stay there, but you are supposed to use a free car park around the corner. This would be less convenient if you need to fetch things from the car and we were not ease with having the car even just a few minutes' walk away given that ours has been broken into in France in a very posh village before which completely ruined a holiday. Lastly, in a high spec holiday let, towels should be fluffy and absorbent and not have the consistency of ryvitas (dried biscuits). This really let down an otherwise lovely property and needs rectifying straightaway. Bath mats do not dry a wet body. Likewise, cheap foam square pillows are not comfortable and an unpleasant surprise too. The bathroom on the ground floor has a huge blinded window and you will see shaded pedestrians walking past whilst in the shower. This might spook some.
