Comfortable, easy and super helpful. Stay here, not only for its great central location, but for the place itself, wonderful. Small enough to be personal, accommodating and make everything easy. A before dawn cooked breakfast, no problem. Helpful local in-site. The hosts are wonderful.

We’ve just enjoyed the most fantastic 2 days at RCL with the most welcoming, helpful & knowledgeable hosts in Bernie & Marie, that you could ever meet. Nothing was too much trouble, our room was fabulous, location perfect, recommendations of where to eat spot-on (and they were even happy for us to chat with them over dinner at The Cypress Tree) - can’t recommend highly enough & would love to return!

Bernie and Marie welcomes us to a fantastically beautiful lodge. Very nice rooms and a lovely garden with a jacuzzi and 10 points for the breakfast. Thank you again for your kind hospitality and we can recommend this nice accommodation to everyone.

This B&B was great. Bernie and Marie do everything to make your stay even beter. They gave tips over where to eat, what to do and even offered to do the booking for the Tongariro cross. The rooms are clean and large. Breakfast is very good. The surrounding is beautifull. We definitely recommend this place.

A good looking Lodge with beautiful rooms with seats outside and view on the spacious garden. A perfect stay for skiing and visiting the Tongariro National Park. The owners were very helpful in explaining the difficulties in walking tracks in and around Okahune. I could borrow the golfset for a round of golf behind the house starting at hole 3. A relaxed stay with a hot tub and a sauna. For our next trip to the east cost Bernie had already some very good ideas. JP & MP from the Netherlands 16-19 Feb 2024

Truly a delightful experience! My husband and I are not really “bed and breakfast people” but Bernie and Marie and their wonderful Ruapehu Country Lodge blew that notion to pieces. Beautiful setting, extremely well-appointed rooms, and charming, hospitable hosts put this at the top of our “favorites” list for NZ lodging.

Fantastic location for visiting the Tongariri National Park. This has to be one of the best places to stay in New Zealand with the hosts Bernie & Maria going above and beyond to make your visit perfect. The breakfast being home made produce and presented to a high standard . The hosts local knowledge made trips to the national park and restaurants a delight. Gorgeous property, cozy room and delicious breakfast. The hosts were just wonderful. They provided a lovely spread every morning. We couldn't get a restaurant booking in town and they personally called the restaurant and got us a booking. What more could you ask for.

This is the perfect place! A really nice couple Marie and Bernie, who are friendly and interested and helpful. Beautiful room with ensuite and huge garden with jacuzzi and very nice golfcourse accessible through the garden. Perfect stay for the Tongariro alpine crossing but also many hidden gems near. Very clean, good breakfast.
