Do not go anywhere near this place. !!!! Think Motel 6 without the 6!!! Everything is just terrible. The room was a dump. The service is nowhere around. The food was not edible. I checked out 2 days early on a 3 day stay just to avoid the reminders here. Absolutely horrible

We had a great stay at Occidental Papagayo for our trip to Costa Rica. The staff was so friendly and fun. Some of the rooms AC didn’t work very well and showers weren’t always very warm. Other than that, no complaints. The food was great. The restaurants absolutely amazing! The bars were all great, as well as the pools.

We request king bed at the time of the reservation . When we did the check in the don’t have it available

Stay was good. Room was a little out dated. Too many hilly areas. Had preffered club but didn't have much to offer for that so it really wasn't worth the extra money

Beautiful property. Room was spacious but dirty and shower didn't work. Glad we were only there 3 nights.

Occidental Papagayo was amazing! The resort is beautiful and very elegant. The staff were so kind and thoughtful. We loved our stay! Carlos ( our server at the Snack Bar restaurant) was wonderful. We would highly recommend this resort.

Overall the resort is nice, a little outdated in decor, standard food is served at the buffet, they do have 3 on-site restaurants that are a great option for dinner. Staff and trip advisors on-site are all friendly and do a great job answering questions and helping you while on your trip. Resort is on a hillside, so be prepared to walk up and down some hills when going from your room to different areas of the resort. They do offer a shuttle service around the property. Beach is nice, shared with the locals, mainly on the weekend. Great spot for pictures though, and the safe swim zone is marked.

Thought it would be very outdated and not clean but it exceeded my expectations!! Staff very friendly and helpful! Would go again

The shuttle from place to place should have a regular 30 minutes round trip from beach/pool. The DJ in the disco was crap! He played his songs, and played tracks of 6-7 songs from one artist. Did not read the room. Maid service needs a standard of rooms. There was 11 of us and we all had different amounts of towels etc. in 8 rooms. The big high tubs are not ok for anyone with knee issues. It was a daily struggle to get in and out of it. Been in better, been in worse.
