This is a great place. We visited during the summer in 2022 and it was the first time ever we were in Mammoth. The location is great and so are all the adventure experiences available for kids and adults alike.
This resort has all of the amenities of a big corporate hotel without any of the stale corporatized decor and energy! Every detail is thoughtful and homey, and everyone who we met at the hotel was wonderful from the guests to the staff! In particular, Chip and Eric were absolutely wonderful! We stopped at the wine bar in the cozy fireplace room for a nightcap, and as wine professionals we were surprised and impressed by the high-caliber wine menu, rivaling any other restaurant in town! Put this wine bar on your list even if you don't end up booking a room -- but, you should absolutely book a room! Also, if you are lucky enough to share a conversation with Eric and Chip - I promise you, meeting them will be the highlight of your trip, as it was ours.
Over the past several years, my husband and I have enjoyed libations and live music at Tamarack Lodge and fine dining at Lakefront Restaurant as well as hikes around Twin Lakes and cross country skiing….but we hadn’t had the pleasure of enjoying Tamarack as resort guests until this past weekend. So glad I made an old-school in-person visit to make inquiries about lodging! When I shared that I was hoping to plan a surprise overnight cabin stay for my husband’s birthday, Brian was very attentive, outlining all options available and patiently answering all of my questions. Luckily, Brian was able to immediately secure the accommodations we wanted on the date we needed. To say my husband was pleasantly surprised is an understatement! Brian and the Tamarack Lodge staff made our first stay an exceptionally memorable one! Pictures say more than words, so I posted the maximum allowable (and wanted to post at least 10 more scenics!) We look forward to enjoying more classic lakeside retreats at Tamarack, hoping to celebrate all four seasons with family and friends at this haven for years to come.
DdioforrioWe actually stayed in January 2022 but it would not let me select that date. This inn was simple, no frills, but we didn’t really need any. Just needed somewhere clean and safe that didn’t cost and arm and a leg, just somewhere to lay our heads after skiing. Only the most simple rooms were available as week booked pretty close to the trip date, but on the morning of our check out we saw some of the suites/larger rooms available as they were being cleaned and they looked really cool. My main issue was them not having a microwave in the room. This is just a basic element that all hotels should and usually do have. Especially if you are going to have a mini fridge where you might stash left overs, you should have a microwave. Or what if you just want to reheat your coffee? If they could make that simple upgrade I think all their guests would appreciate. Otherwise I had not complaints about our stay. It was warm, clean, and quiet. Great inexpensive stay.
We needed a room with three beds so the Edelweiss sufficed!. The room was sparsely furnished with minimal equipment, for instance no chairs to sit on, and no racks for your suitcases. I think this place was built many years ago, and though clean, it sure hasn't been updated. And it isn't cheap. The cable tv service is terrible and the beds are old ticking mattresses on open coil springs which make a racket everytime you turn over. I wouldn't stay here again for the money, but it would be okay if you like rustic.
BbigbearbillTiming is everything, so I guess it was off when I stayed here. I was attracted by the website advertising how quiet and comfy it was. The construction in the lot made it very noisy by day and the guests in the next room made it noisy by night. Comfy wasn’t working for me either with the heater being out due to the construction cutting the power, this was explained to me by management and they would be by later to bring a heater. So I tried the jacuzzi to warm up but it was too cold. The location in town and the free parking were the two best parts. Not planning on a return visit.
ゲゲストThis place did not feel like a hostel more like you were staying in someone’s home. Plenty of free parking and walking distance from the village. Great location and one of the lowest priced accommodations you can find in Mammoth. I’ve stayed at other higher priced locations that were not as nice. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms.
