The hotel was immaculately clean and our room overlooked the sea. Well stocked RNLI shop and lovely seating areas. Sadly such a positive review cannot be left for Riggers restaurant. Our starters were fine and arrived after some confusion as to whether the restaurant had any prawns. The 4 main course arrived. ,3 of which were satisfactory. The burger was so burnt it was inedible as was the bun , ham & cheese.I was offered a replacement but everyone else had finished eating so I declined , there was little in the way of apology. We were brought dessert menus but after 20 minutes no one had come back to take our order so I went to where the staff were all chatting. Shortly afterwards the desserts arrived and the custard was cold. Again I had to go to find someone. The manager did apologise and the bill was amended according. The service was terrible no one seemed to know what they were doing. Such a shame that we feel this has let the hotel down. This will not deter us from staying at the hotel we will eat off site in future.

What a great hotel comfortable bed large room spotless with sofa really nice soaps supplied in the bathroom. The hotel breakfast was superb and all the staff in the entire hotel were excellent.I can't rate this place highly enough. Views from the entire hotel were excellent. The only thing was the bar was shut for refurbishment but this spoil our visit

Ate in the restaurant. Very good value for money. For both people to eat in the restaurant it came to £11. You will need to book a table ahead. Had an amazing guided tour by volunteer Dave king . Who was really informative about the surrounding buildings. One actually used for building their own lifeboats. Had a ride on the simulator, a look at the hydraulic and engineering work shops.

What a fantastic tour this was. An excellent man Stuart Casey (volunteer) took us around and it was so interesting! All the wonderful work that goes on behind the scenes is amazing. I’d recommend this to anyone and Riggers Restaurant is lovely too. Good lunch

Had a wonderful stay at the RNLI College. During the Poole Lifeboat Festival weekend. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was amazing. The views were even better. The onsite Riggers Restaurant is fantastic. A wonderful dinner on the Sunday night. And breakfast on the Monday morning. It was well located within walking distance to the Railway Station. Would definitely stay again.

Modern hotel with excellent facilities for lifeboat trainees. Worth staying there to view them. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Staff are friendly and plentiful. Good wardrobe space but short on drawer space. Bath/shower gel and shampoo supplied in dispensers, which is not our favourite. Great breakfast with lots of choice. We didn’t use the restaurant for other meals but it seems popular. Pleasant views across the Upton Lake part of Poole Harbour. Smallish car park. Three minute walk by own footpath to Asda next door. You can park there free for 3 hours. It’s about 15 minutes’ walk to Poole Quay.

Needs a break after some difficult times. Booked two nights away. Stayed one night only and checked out after breakfast. Tv had problems but was later sorted. Bed was not very comfortable and I spent most of the night Sat up on the sofa with a blanket on me. Service in the bar was very slow and after drinking one and a half pint of life saver had a bad stomach. Ordered fish and chips for dinner. Fish in beer batter, fish ok but better awful. Chips hard and not cooked enough. Breakfast was ok. Don't think we will be back.

If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodation in Poole then this is highly recommended. The college is part of the RNLI complex right alongside Poole Harbour. The ensuite bedrooms are very clean, comfortable, quiet and all have a view of the harbour. Free parking is available on the site. Breakfast is included in the overnight rate and more than adequate. The restaurant is a very pleasant glass-fronted room and the bar on the first floor is a nice spot for a drink whilst watching the activity on the water. The reception and restaurant staff are extremely friendly and helpful. All this and you are helping a very worthy charity at the same time! A Premier Inn, similarly priced, is just up the road but in my opinion this is a much nicer place to stay.

Excellent tour of the college helped by our knowledgeable guide Evelyn. It was amazing to see how they replicate the weather in the pool. It was a shame the simulator broke down but it didn’t spoil the day. We also Enjoyed a lovely meal afterwards in the restaurant The Lugger
