オーベルジュ シュル メール(Auberge Sur Mer)

A stay at the Auberge Sur Mer was just the experience my wife and I were hoping for during our first visit to the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. The very welcoming staff took great care of us, cheerfully fulfilling our every request. The rooms are not large but they are thoughtfully appointed and up-to-date while respecting a centennial heritage. An don't visit the boutique unless you have lots of space in your luggage. Two features really stood out: our private balcony overlooking the rich estuary shore and a sweeping expanse of river, with hundreds of migratory birds (and a very large seal) passing by; and the Auberge's restaurant, April. The meals were simply excellent and the service was adept, attentive, and friendly. We enjoyed our stay so much that we juggled the rest of our itinerary to remain another night. Quiet, pet friendly, easy beach access, nearby walking trails and viewpoints. Blissful.

Pretty rooms newly renovated right on the St Lawrence. The restaurant however is overpriced for what tou get with few options. Charging for bread is rather stingy!

We stayed in the main building as it was a last-minute booking and the motel was full. The room was comfortable and we had a little balcony. Sat outside watching the herons with binocs and a glass of wine before dinner, perfect. Staff lovely, restaurant meal was fabulous. Especially vegetarian dish. All in all, can't wait to stay again.

Beautifully appointed by the River, brand new remodelled motel unit. Small room, no fridge. If you dine with them it is very pricey.

We were recommended this Auberge as a good place to stop over on a two-day trip to the Maritimes in mid-June. As we know from past experience that summer rooms get booked up in advance, we booked two dates to stay going and returning. We also asked to reserve a table at the Auberge restaurant at the same time as we booked the rooms. On the out bound trip, we stayed in single story motel where the rooms have a balcony overlooking the river. The room was modest but clean modern and functional. I noted that the sliding door when closed, reduced the sounds of the waves, good for light sleepers. We purchased a bottle of wine at the bar and took it back to our room before eating at restaurant with windows overlooking the river. This is a popular place so booking well ahead is necessary. We also had breakfast there, the attractive flower arrangements on each table was a feature as well as the excellent cooking. On our return in early July we had booked a room in the main building which is historic and so the fittings are dated but functional. our room had a bath, the motel rooms have showers. As our return visit was on a Sunday the restaurant was closed but we again had a fine breakfast. All our engagements with the staff were very pleasant and we will certainly make the Auberge sur Mer a regular stop on our yearly drive to the Maritimes.

The food was absolutely fabulous. We were at very expensive restaurants in Quebec city but the chef here was better. Also the view from the dining room outstanding

Nice boutique hotel. Beautiful spot. The music from the restaurant was way too loud. We could hear it through the floor and it kept us up.

The location of the Motel’s room front of the sea very nice. Bed sheets be white and clean room although a bit old building accommodations are fine Dinner at April good but fees 4$ for 1 mini bread ridiculous! Fish of the day salmon very good and dessert with strawberries of season super! Love this aera and village of Notre Dame du Portage by the sea. Nice discovery for me!

Incredible a**osphere surrounds this place. Beautiful breakfast and all those working here were shining like the sun.
