I would give this a ”very good” for the property as it was nice and nicer than I expected. The room was equipped with a kitchenette and a really nice big balcony. I was there out of season so couldn't fully appreciate the balcony, but it was a nice outdoor space. What wasn't so good was the check-in process. I booked through **********, and on none of the communications was the name of the rental people (I forget their name now but it began with an A). I duly communicated or tried to communicate through ********** as requested. I explained that I was driving from Zagreb and would let them know when I landed so they knew when to expect me. At that point they made me aware that I would need to go to the office of the rental agency and then be taken to the property. It was dark by the time I arrived and the gateway was right off a main road onto a one way street, having been in the country 4 hours on my own in a hire car, this was not helpful. They didn't respond to the messages through ********** but had at no point given me their direct details which would have helped greatly. Eventually I had to phone a Croation phone number from my English phone (don't know what that's cost me) to be quite rudely asked ”where you are you then ? Did you not follow the instructions”. Which, yes I had, I just didn't know if I was in the right place or not. The chap was out delivering another couple to thir property and he told me to wait and he would come back for me. Which he duly did. I left the car at their office that first night as the parking was unclear. However the next day I was able to park near the property, so that was good. They would have come and got me again on checkout day if my car was at theirs. This did negatively impact my initial first impressions - when I said that if I had been given a bit more info it would have been fine and the chap said I should have googled it ?? But googled what ? The process works, but it would be so much better if everyone knew what was happening. I was then given their watsapp number, which is their phone number, but again, you only know that if you know ! THat made it much easier and I was able to message as I checked out. So, the property was nice, its a great location. I don't want to sound negative, but things need to be clearer - especially when using third party platforms.

We have been going to hotel Molindrio for 10 years with my parents and sister and are club members. Every year has been a great experience but that all changed this year. From the beginning the reception has told us every year that we are free to use the beach at hotel Parentium and we are also able to use the white chairs to lie down. We have been doing this ever since. This year we were approached by life guards at the beach asking us why we were using the white chairs if we are not guests of hotel Parentium, because this was not allowed. We explained that we have been doing this for years and had been told by the reception that this was not a problem because we were guests at the sister hotel Molindrio. When we made the reception aware of this altercation with the life guards they first claimed that these chairs were never offerd to us by the reception and that we were lucky that we had not been caught earlier for using these chairs ( which made us feel absolutely horrible, we just did what the reception has told us for years that we could do ), after we explained that we are not lying and have been guest for 10 years and have always been using these chairs they switched up the story and told us that there is a new management and there are new rules so we cannot use these chairs at the beach anymore ( so now we are not liars but the new director has given these orders, reception could have just told us this from the start instead of making us look like liars ). So we had to lie down on the concrete. My dad has a bad back and instead if a relaxing vacation his back got even worse from lying on the hard concrete with just a towel. Absolutely disgraceful! Furthermore the food this year was of very poor quality. The fruit they served was either rotten or without taste, which left us really feeling disappointed especially because we have been coming here for years and have always been so satisfied with the food. Needless to say we will not be coming back anymore after being treated this way. We are very disappointed.

It’s a well-run, family friendly hotel, with beautiful interior in a quiet part of Zelena Laguna. Food is good, plenty to choose from, there’s a non-dress code for dinner, casual is fine. Our superior garden view room was very nice and clean. We loved to chill under the pine trees and had long walks around the beautiful area. I would recommend it.

My husband and I booked the hotel as a last minute cheap deal and on first impressions we were impressed. The hotel is in a nice setting with well tended gardens and a short walk to the seafront promenade, great if you want to lie around the pool all week but we found it too cut off. There are no local buses in the area at all and the small tourist train was 1km away and had very restricted times being early season. A taxi into porec was £20 each way. Hotel food was typical for a large tourist hotel and we always found something to eat. The bedrooms however are extremely small and very basic no storage cupboards or drawers for anything at all.the bathrooms are so small the shower door wouldn't open fully as banged into the toilet and the bathroom door couldn't open fully due to the towel rail behind it. You get bigger bathrooms on cruise ships ! The main down side was the constant stream of tourist coaches which used the hotel on a daily basis ( 8 full coaches on one particular day )which left the hotel more like a travel lodge motel and not like a relaxing away from it all holiday break. In all an OK hotel for the money we paid but not somewhere we would return to unless in a coach party.
What a wonderful boutique hotel. The staff make you feel very welcome They have parking and come get you and your luggage in a cart. The dining area is partitioned in a way, intimate and multi-leveled. I loved the architecture of it. The breakfast is included and was excellent. I felt like we would have done any better going somewhere else. Our dinner there was fantastic! The menu has somewhat limited choices but everything we had was outstanding! Chef Vuckovic should get a star!
RR_LA_BarnThird time at this hotel and we still LOVE it!!! It's designed for young families, to perfection. It's not cheap, but what you get are gorgeous rooms, top class service, amazing food (not repetitive, even over 2 weeks). And a kids club that is out of thir world. It's like all the fun bits of school in a safe and secure environment with highly qualified staff. We caught the road train into the town, which is also beautiful. We also did a few other activities, olive oli tasting at Cadenela and the medieval theme park, both amazing. The camp site next door has had a LOT of investment and more to come that looks very exciting. Even on a rainy day, which we had a couple in 2 weeks, there is still plenty to do. Indoor swimming is big enough to accommodate everyone. The staff and can't do enough for you, they really make this place special.
SStephen SExcellent hotel and location. Short distance to the coastal path which is stunning, borrowed the bikes and ventured out for hours with little cafes along the way! Pleasant walk into Rovinj with many shops and restaurants. Downside was couldn’t always get a lounger by the pool there aren’t many. Not really acceptable. Maybe other people were coming from the Lone? Pool bar service was good and Mullini Beach service also very good. Breakfast OK, food from menu was served cold though? Cold poached egg so didn’t bother again just had the buffet. Asked for a high room but wasn’t available so bit disappointing as there was no view and based on what we had paid for 3 nights wasn’t a great outlook plus ants coming into room. Overall fab hotel.
We made the right decision to take our first trip to Croatia, the right decision to visit Istria, the right decision to stay in Rovinj & absolutely hit the bullseye with Residence Vaal. This is an absolute gem of a property & Denis, Aleksandra and their team, particularly Laura & Aleksandar, could not have done more to make our trip a thoroughly enjoyable one, & to ensure that we want to hurry back. Residence Vaal is extremely comfortable, well equipped and almost surgically clean. The setting, slightly away from the centre of town is peaceful, & it's ideally placed for Cuvi beach. The breakfasts are fresh, varied and generous, and offer a great selection with home-baked daily delicacies. The pool area is an oasis of peace, with added hydromassage! All these tangible attributes are practically perfect, but what really made our trip was the extremely friendly, uber helpful and above-and-beyond service. I cannot recommend Residence Vaal highly enough!
