Norfolk Hotel

Da ich leider kurzfristig die Reise absagen musste und die Stornierung zu diesem Hotel etwas umständlich ist, kann ich leider nicht viel dazu sagen .

We had a comfortable room, which was more than adequate for my sister and I . The beds were comfy and as there was an extra quilt in the room, warm enough for my sister! The TV was a little small for the size of the room but we didnt plan to sit there and watch TV all weekend ! The breakfasts were very good - choice of full English or a Continental. Staff all very friendly and helpful , an enormous efficient housekeeping team buzzing around from early morning. A small computer available for guests use in the foyer was useful when trying to download (unsuccessfully) my boarding card for the return trip. Useful space for leaving luggage before and after access to the rooms.

Staying in this little hotel felt like stepping back in time in a way I found charming and homey. The service is very friendly and helpful...I liked the way we had the same table and the same server every morning for breakfast (Gil from Kenya, who was great!) and real key rather than a card, things like that. The room was fairly basic but spotlessly clean. My only complaint was that the walls were rather thin, but the other residents were fairly quiet (many of them seemed to be retired), and I got to sort of enjoy waking up to the sound of the restaurant staff preparing breakfast. Great value, would stay there again.

The departing UK airport descended in to chaos and lost my flight. In time honoured tradition by greedy hotel owners they kept my money and refused a refund and/or voucher for another day. Taking money and not providing a service under any circumstances is a sin, especially when its in the low season. Just plain greedy.

Although the hotel is a wee bit basic, the staff are all nice, the cleanliness is of a high standard, the breakfast(included in price) was nice and the the situation is ideal - just a couple of minutes walk into town. My sister and I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it highly!

The hotel is lovely. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The room was spacious with plenty of drawers and hanging space. Outside is a seating area with part of it undercover which was lovely to sit in first thing in the morning. The breakfast was plentiful and very well cooked. Unfortunately dinner was a bit disappointing. The main part of the meal of meat or fish was always very well cooked. However, the vegetables let the meal down. Carrots were the tiny baby ones but I am not sure if they were tinned or vacuum packed. The boiled potatoes were whole which looked un inspiring and I am assuming they were pre peeled and vacuum packed which unfortunately gave a waxy texture. The roast potatoes were the same as the boiled ones, whole and waxy. When the broccoli arrived it was only the stems with no florets. I know this is only a 2* hotel and costs must be considered, but fresh vegetables would make such a difference. Despite the issues with the vegetables I would still certainly return as everything else was perfect.

Close to town, friendly staff, clean and comfy room. The breakfast was nice but the cooked breakfast was not self- service. Around the hotel there were plenty of seating areas. Some form of entertainment was held each evening. Although there was a lift to the upper floors, there were however a lot of stairs. The adjoining wall was paper thin or we just had a very loud neighbour.

Clean and tidy hotel in a central position. Bus to the harbour right outside the door.. Room and bathroom were outstanding. Staff friendly from reception to the servers. Food was plentiful . This hotel also has a pool. Very very cold, but clean. All in all a good experience.

OK, it's not pure luxury - BUT in a way so much more! Friendly staff, comfortable beds, great pool, extremely clean with just everything that you need to enjoy a great holiday. Centrally situated within walking distance of the shops, etc and, if you don't like walking, there's a bus stop right opposite the entrance. Pleasant bar with several sitting areas plus occasional evening entertainment. Good breakfast, helpful waiting staff (thank you Alex!) although we would have liked a little more creative veggie dinners. Oh yes, there's a really nice park nearby - sometimes with a brassbound concert.
