We usually stay in this motel when we go to mountains over 40+ years. I was a little worried since hadn’t been since before covid and it had changed ownership but have never had a problem there and still didn’t. Also, very good hot breakfast. I only have one small complaint. My husband has very weak knees and back problems and can’t stand still over a minute or two without almost falling down. May I suggest chairs in the area where elevators are because very slow elevators and a huge amount of room. I also hope some renovations are in the future for replacing/removing carpet, etc. but still very clean.
ゲゲストThe housekeeping staff was very helpful. The room was clean and spacious.
We were in the building across the river. Member of party was not able to walk to breakfast area and the parking area was severely lacking enough spaces (not to mention hard to maneuver in). So we were never able to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast.
The parking area for the room itself was small. There were cars having to park wherever they could.
The kids really enjoyed the geese and ducks and other critters we saw in the area. By being on the first floor, we were able to enjoy the animals up close. And we enjoyed being next to the river. It was very peaceful.
Okay there’s a bit to talk about here. Mostly good! Cons: If you are a bit of a clean nut - this place isn’t for you. The one *major* thing that bothered me was the bedding. There wasn’t a mattress cover between the sheet and the mattress and I just kept thinking about everyone who laid there before me. The carpet was in need of a steam because if you walked barefoot it made your feet turn black. I wore my flip flops the whole time. The room smelled a bit like smoke and we ended up going to get an air freshener. We did also have turn down service but they only did our bathroom and didn’t make our bed. Very funny lol but we weren’t too upset. I think the place just needs to be renovated/a deep clean and it would be perfect. I was in room 266. Also, the breakfast isn’t eggs and bacon etc. It’s biscuits and gravy which in my opinion was not the tastiest and simple things like cereal and bagels. It’s great in a pinch. Pros: That river balcony is everything. It’s such a soothing sound and you see bears almost every day. We saw 3 bears during our stay. I would come back just for that! There are two pools which are often never used. There is one that seems to be for adults which I had to myself one afternoon. The walk to town is about a mile one way - which after hiking the smokies all day is the last thing you want to do but it’s nice to be out of the crowds. Amazing breakfast and bbq spot across the street. The staff were so nice and helpful. Overall - happy with the experience but I am someone who is picky about sanitation and that’s why I docked the star. You get what you pay for. If you don’t mind an older spot that needs some love, this is a perfect place.
Very comfortable clean room. Affordable for the two of us without breaking the bank. The room above us the first night we could hear was taking a shower. It was leaking thru the light of our shower. It stopped. Never did it again. We do not know if it was fixed, or if no one stayed above us the rest of the week. Balcony was a little small however the right size for the two of us. The front desk person could have kept an eye on the breakfast bar better. One time moldy bread got put out somehow. It was only one. Constantly ran out of stuff and everyone had to constantly go ask for more. It would have been nice if the stuff was filled without us having to ask all the time. The fire pit was a BIG plus. Enjoyed and it helped us become good friends with someone else who was staying there. And we are all already keeping in touch. Pool looked clean. However we were so tired from sightseeing all day that regretfully didn’t get a chance to use it. All in all the rooms were clean and the bed was comfy. Few minor things but were corrected so we will probably stay again. Glad we stayed here instead of pigeon forge or Gatlinburg due to the busyness of those towns. We could go sightseeing there and come back to a quiet space and chill and relax.
Bbrookehicks87It was okay. They could use bigger and thicker blankets. And more pillows. Housekeeping everyday. Make the beds. Not just change the towels. Other then that had a awesome day week we was there. Will be back in August of next year. Will be up in September for bristol race
ゲゲストThe worst hotel we ever stayed at. Wanted to leave after entering a filthy room. They wouldn't refund us and we were only there 10 minutes. We explained it was not like the pictures on priceline and they informed us those were old pictures and the hotel was old. Stained floors and sheets on beds. Bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Looked like a by the hour room . They moved is to a different room but it wasn't much better and they wouldn't refund us so we could leave without losing our money. Don't stay at this hotel. You'll regret it. Pillows were stained and the bed was hard as a brick! They told us priceline would have to refund us
