Stayed for 4 nights and the hotel was clean, staff were friendly, but desperately needs work done on the bathrooms - avacado suites, and our shower was just a dribble - banging pipes and creaky floor boards. The menu was not brilliant - was served vegetable lasagne with chunks of swede, potatoes and peas one night - no salad, or garlic bread - as a diabetic found it very lacking in fresh fruit or vegetables. Won't be going again

Just returned from a a 4 night stay with a coach tour and it was lovely. The beach is abut 100m away. My room was spacious and comfortable, I requested and got a walk-in shower. The food was plentiful with good choices, the bar area very welcoming and drinks very reasonably priced. There was entertainment for 3 nights which was good and of course the nightly bingo game. Lovely garden at the back and the staff were vey friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Huge thank you to Sarah and the staff at the Burlington Hotel for a wonderful weekend celebrating my birthday. As a group of family and friends of all ages (18 to 83) the hotel gave us everything we needed. All the rooms we had were clean and comfortable, the buffet breakfast was excellent, there was something for everyone on the dinner menu and we enjoyed the bar and entertainment in the evenings. The location close to the seafront is great and there is plenty of parking in front of the hotel. The friendly staff went out of their way to make my birthday extra special, upgrading my room and bringing a lovely cake to our table at dinner. We are already planning our next celebration and will definitely be coming back to the Burlington Hotel.

I recently stayed at the burlington hotel as part of a tour and was quite disappointed with my experience. The hotel is very old and outdated, looking like it hasn't been modified since the 90s. My room was not comfortable, and the overall condition of the hotel needs a lot of improvement. The food was also very poor. For dinner, we had cottage pie with sprouting potatoes and a lot of leeks, and the strawberry gateau for dessert was mushy and tasteless. The next evening, the rice pudding was more like mashed potatoes. When we mentioned the issues with the meals to the staff, they just said, "Sorry, hopefully tomorrow will be better," but nothing improved. The lack of response to our concerns made the stay even more frustrating. On a positive note, the bar staff and entertainment were amazing. The comedy with Jules was something else and provided some much-needed laughter during our stay. Additionally, the singer Abbie Lemon was very good and added to the enjoyable moments at the hotel. However, there were also loud doors slamming at stupid o'clock in the morning, which disrupted our sleep and added to the overall negative experience. I would not recommend this hotel to others until significant improvements are made.

Members and friends of Addiscombe Lodge stayed in the Burlington and as one was walking 80 miles around the island supported by others the Hotel was an ideal location. We were well fed and entertained for an excellent price. Rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfast kept us going until a good hearty evening meal. Dining times were a bit short but we worked around them. A big thank you to Sarah Brown, owner/director who very kindly made a very generous donation to our charity raising for Prostate Cancer. Donations were also received from other guests. It won't be long until the hotel gets a 3rd star, Sarah and the staff were most welcoming.

Very clean hotel with great staff who were friendly and very accommodating. My only criticism would be the bar they could do with a nicer selection of wine. Also was very surprised they didn’t stock the mermaid gin which is made on the island.

I would like to write a wonderful review for the staff at The Burlington Hotel. It was our mother's 75th birthday on 30th April and I had asked if they could possibly send a bottle of Prosecco to her table during the evening meal. They did this "free of charge" and also provided a cake for her. What a wonderful service which was really appreciated and was a lovely gesture on our mother's trip away.

walking into the room it looks very nice then it hits you only one double plug in the room and no USB charging points so while charging your phones dont expect to make a cup of tea lol then there was the shower it is very poor the shower pressure like stop and start poor but appart from that the meals were great the breakfasts were great plenty of choise and you aint far from the town and the beach with the prominade so if they fixed these problems i would give them a five star but overall very good value for money

The outside of the hotel is very smart and welcoming and so is the reception area. The website states the hotel has been refurbished. When I checked into my room I was shocked at the state of the furniture which was all grey and chipped and not very clean, the wardrobe door also needed attention. I gave the draws a quick clean out before placing my clothes inside. (I did not inform reception about my room.) The bathroom suite was the old fashioned green shade and the toilet seat was full of chipped paint. The shower had rust on it and the water pressure from the shower was very poor and I was unable to get hot water from the shower. I asked the lovely lady on reception about my shower and she informed me that the pressure was low and that I had to run my hot tap in the sink and then this would give me hot water in my shower.I did this and there was a little improvement but I gave up having a shower for the weekend break. At least I had hot water in the sink. My room was warm and my bed was comfortable and I slept very well. The quiet lounge area is a space in the corridor, which must get busy on times as people pass through it. I enjoyed the evening entertainment. The hotel uses cash and the minimum card purchase is £10.00, so I had to find a cash machine as unfortunatly I have got into the habit of using my card at all times. So now this has made me more prepared with holidays and taking cash. Breakfast is well laid out with two stations for toast and drinks. The hot food buffet was replenished when required and the choice was good, but I wasnt sure about the scambled eggs as they tasted bland and were nearly white in colour. The coffee machine was great. The evening menu choice was posted up in reception with the weeks menus on display. As I am a vegetarian there was a good choice for me. The portion size was huge for the main meal and well presented and the salads were well prepared. I did ask for fresh fruit one evening as I dont like tinned fruit and I had an orange which was neatly slice for me. I appreciated this. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and kind, especially the waiting staff in the dining room. They worked very hard.
