This small, family owned resort is gorgeous. It’s tiny, so if you’re looking for tons of different types of cuisine and night life- this isn’t the place for you (I was in bed by 9pm on two nights of my trip…my dream come true). I felt safe the entire time I was on property and at the beach bar. The food they offer is AMAZING (seriously dreaming of that lime-tortilla soup), the beach bar right next door also has some food options. It was all freshly prepared and delivered to our room or the beach for us! Tony & crew were SO accommodating!! The beach bar has amazing drinks as well (one too many “Dirty Monkeys” did lead to the best beach nap ever) & it the views are GORGEOUS!!! I had a pool facing room, and my parent had a beach facing condo and I enjoyed both. The rooms are cold, showers are hot, & the beds are clean. There’s some things as far as the rooms go that aren’t five star (zebra sheets are weird, there’s some mineralization on the faucets & shower)- but you’re in the jungle & on a beach so that constant humidity provides some wear and tear. The things that mattered (clean, cold A/C, Hot shower) were all there. There was also smart TVs in the rooms and strong wifi. And I slept like a rock on my king sized bed. I had read some prior reviews about the “king sized beds” being 2 twin mattresses put together but I was pleasantly surprised to find that we all had king sized mattresses. I only wore shoes for like 5% of my entire vacation!! I had a FABULOUS time & will return year after year. Also- if you walk down the beach about 200 yard there’s beach side massages- best massage of my life. I’m sitting at home trying to figure out how to quit my job, sell my belongings and move to Villas De Rosa- that’s how much I loved it!!

We loved our stay at El Dorado Seaside Suits in October 2024. We stayed “palm side” of the site which meant we were surrounded by palm trees making the hotel sympathetically woven into the edge of the jungle. Staff were very polite and helpful across the who hotel. Gardeners and seaweed clearing team do such a great job and are unsung hero’s of the hotel. The events staff were brilliant with their daily programme of optional activities. The craft sessions we did and a 5k run my partner did were run by Luis who is such a spark of energy and so much fun - a real asset to the hotel. Jose was my guide on the beach walk and a lovely guy. A highlight for me was the daily morning yoga programme at the hotel held on the pier, or in the studio of the rains fell! Adriana is a brilliant yoga instructor which such a beautiful energy. She was so welcoming and sought to provide adaptations for all needs in the class. Adriana really explained each yoga move, enhancing my own learning and would give instructions in both English and Spanish for her audience. Such a good instructor who deserves praise and can be very proud of her teaching skills. We were impressed with the hotels environmental and sustainability practices. Coconuts painted in the craft session were taken along the beach to grow into palm trees and the plastic cups at the outdoor bars cleaned well and refused. Coati’s and raccoons often seen and we saw a spider monkey in the trees at the hotel. Lovely to be around nature who also feel comfortable at the hotel. The restaurants were nice however some of the food was sometimes a bit hit and miss regarding cooking quality. Generally good but not excellent. If this happens, simply order something else. Recommend going in October as it’s still hot with good weather and the hotel is far from full! Highly recommend this hotel and this part of Mexico.
My husband, Robert & I just returned from our 4th visit to HAC ~ another fantastic stay in beautiful Akumal. The welcoming smiles when we check in after the long day of travel can only mean, ”Welcome Home” ~ we stayed in 417 with it's lovely view of the pool area & the sounds of the birds & the sea. Our room was maintained by a very nice lady & gentleman ~ always smiling & greeting us with ”Hola, Buenos Dias” what a wonderful way to start our day. Speaking of starting our day, nothing beats a breakfast @ The Lolha ~ big ups to the Waitstaff (Juan & Gregorio) & the gentleman preparing our delicious breakfasts ~ The Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese Bagel was out of this world, knew I should have ordered it twice (next time) ~ the food presentation is top notch. Again, we figured on trying some new places, didn't happen ~ not when you have the Lolha's extensive menu right there ~ yes, we ate good & drank good, too!! Have to give credit to the guys who took such great care of us there ~ so thank you Oscar, Ernesto (Ernie), Alberto (Bert), Willy, Fernando, Arturo (Artie) & the rest of the crew. Would like to mention our missing Rafa, who we toasted to every evening with a shot of Correlejo & know he was looking down with a smile. This trip we had the opportunity to meet Laura Wolfe, a very gracious lady who takes such pride in her establishment & staff. Thank you again Hotel Akumal Caribe & The Lolha for another successful trip ~ look forward to our return next Spring!! Patricia Rinka
