Overall this is a beautiful resort and we had a lovely vacation. But, just like every resort in our experience, there is good and bad. It's always a compromise. The good does outweigh the bad here, but you should be prepared for the potential of a few challenges. The Good: The food is universally good across the property and at the neighboring hotels that are included. Really no misses for us on the food quality. The resort is huge. This is good and potentially bad. If you like to walk and explore, this is a great place. They have a very nice path along the ocean that allows for (very) long walks for fun or to get to your dinner reservation. If you don't mind or even like walking, again this is a great place. It's beautiful and for us this was a huge plus. If you have mobility issues, this could be a problem or just an inconvenience. They do have many golf carts running around and you can get rides. You may have to wait, but again it's very doable, maybe just not convenient. We never took a cart, but I watched many do it. We stayed in a swim up casita and it was very nice. Nice big room, nice bed, great outdoor shower, overall a super nice room. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Makes those long walks more interesting for sure. The place is generally very clean. They are always working, cleaning, etc. and it the effort shows. The alcohol is pretty top shelf and they also serve many beers in cans. This is something you don't see much of anymore. The Challenges: The restaurant reservation system is lousy and wonky. Everyone seems to complain about it so I hope they will change it. It's a web page where you have to book all dinner reservations. The concierge gave us bad info on the first day and that did not help (he told us you can only book 48 hour out and that was not true - We booked the whole week on day 1). Many restaurants are booked up, and in our case we had to eat at the same restaurants twice in a row for dinners (This happened twice). We heard some say they could not get reservations at all ( I can't confirm this as true) but it's not a good system and something to be aware of. The pools were cold. Not a big surprise, but when you can't swim in the ocean (due to the concrete barriers) it was kind of a problem for me. One evening it poured rain and you could see things falling apart. Room service was backed up for hours, it was very difficult to get a cart ride, and you could feel the service in general fall off. They are clearly not prepared to excel in challenging conditions. The worst of this for us was being denied a ride in a cart during heavy rain by a stressed out staff member. He told me he was ”too busy” to drive us back to our room from a restaurant. He was apparently delivering luggage, but I thought this was not acceptable. I think the guest experience comes first and why would you let your guest walk (a good 5 to 6 minutes) in the heavy rain. We did, and got soaked. My wife in her dinner dress, et
As other reviews have mentioned, this resort blocks Tripadvisor on their wifi, so I had to disconnect in order to leave a review here. The pros: most of the staff (especially the groundskeepers, drivers, and servers) are excellent. They are super friendly and great at what they do. Several stand out, but we didn't catch everyone's name. Alex (The Palms), Jonathan (Jade), Samuel (spa), and Julian shuttling us around are all wonderful people. Our concierge downstairs (female, didn't catch her name) is also great and booked our dinner at Fuentes. Food was mostly good, with the exception of La Isla at El Dorado Royale which was terrible food with terrible, mean-spirited service. The cons: the accommodations are pretty bad considering the price here. We booked a standard room with a balcony (higher floor) but were instead put in one of the rooms with a swim-up pool. It might sound like an upgrade, but it's a lower floor, and the pool is pretty much unusable due to how cold it is. We've been here for 5 days now, and I haven't seen a single person using it. Ants have been a regular pest in here. Our neighbors left out their room service for housekeeping to pick up, and it took them over 24 hours to get the dishes, causing a stink and more ants. The room itself has a comfortable bed, but the bathroom needs some updating. The jacuzzi had the drain completely detached when we arrived, and I had to screw it back in to get it working. The shower has a rainwater head above, but the switch to enable it requires an almost impossible amount of strength (so much so that you'll think you're doing something wrong). The drain is also pretty slow in the shower, but it's not a big deal. Other reviews are spot-on about the room needing a refresh. I can't speak to the quality of Bonanza Ranch, but some of the horses didn't seem very happy. Several exhibited signs of stress in their tiny stables (biting the bar and breathing in sharply, over and over again.) Even our tour guide mentioned it was anxiety-induced behavior. Bad: The Lomas travel people. You'll have to go to this office in order to book your ”More Inclusive” activities. These people have one of the easiest jobs on the resort, and they act like every waking moment speaking with a guest is painful. The woman who booked our activities on the day we arrived was literally rolling her eyes at basic questions. When our trip to Maroma beach was cancelled, we had to rebook with her, and she clearly couldn't wait to be finished talking with us. My girlfriend got sick one morning, and we couldn't make it for our Aktun Chen excursion, so I waited around for the office to open and tell them we wouldn't be going. When it opened, the man there refused to help, saying I didn't give them enough notice (even though I came as early as we possibly could given the circumstances). He didn't really listen to anything I was saying, and also wouldn't even call the front desk to let the transportation know we weren't coming. I hop
The hotel, the best but to pricy, so gritty expecting 6000 pesos for a less than 50 dollars game.
Also not making up to the agreement, between Trip and Nickelodeon together. Last time I use both
ゲゲストFrom start to finish, the experience at Ocean Riviera Paradise El Beso was simply outstanding. The resort itself is beautiful, with immaculately maintained grounds. But what really stood out to me was the exceptional service provided by the employees, particularly Miroslava, Rafael, Timu, Jorge (from the trolly), Mijael (bartender), and Francisco!! As mentioned, the employees at Ocean Riviera Paradise El Beso that truly make the resort stand out and made our time there absolutely AMAZING are Miroslava, Rafael, Timu, Jorge (from the trolly), Mijael (bartender), and Francisco! Here are some more positives about their exceptional service: * They are incredibly knowledgeable about the resort and the surrounding area. They were always happy to provide recommendations for activities, restaurants, and local attractions, and they seemed genuinely invested in ensuring that we had a wonderful time! * They were dedicated to providing exceptional service and ensuring that we felt valued and appreciated. They clearly take pride in their work and went out of their way to make sure that every guest had a personalized and memorable experience. * They are warm, friendly, and approachable. They are always available to answer questions or offer assistance, but never intrusive or pushy. * They are professional, and they take their jobs very seriously. They are punctual, reliable, and always strived to exceed guest expectations. Overall, these employees at Ocean Riviera Paradise El Beso are truly exceptional. Their dedication to providing outstanding service and ensuring that guests have a wonderful time is evident in everything they do. I can't speak highly enough of them and their commitment to making the resort a truly special place. Please do ensure this feedback is shared with them all. THANK YOU FOR THE AWESOME TIME GUYS!!! You made the trip super awesome and we are super grateful to have met you all. - Adrian (NYC)
I took my extended family to Playa del Carmen for a fun week. I booked 4 separate 2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms suites at Anah Suites but were given 3 suites at Anah Downtown and 1 suite at Anah La Playa across the street. They were overbooked and our concierge, Daniel Jimenez, tried to accommodate us by offering to move us to the La Quinta by Anah on 5th Avenue & 40th, but we realized that the current location was actually the best since it was close to everything. Daniel was really accommodating and the staffs were really nice! The suites were offered at a good price for the money, however, it is close to a busy street. I let the rest of my family stay at the suites at Anah Downtown and we stayed in the suite at La Playa across the street. Our room was clean but one of the toilet wasn't flushing in 1 bathroom and the shower barely worked in the other bathroom. This was annoying at first, but wasn't a big deal since we spent most of our time outdoors doing activities. Be warned that nearby streets are constantly busy (noise all day and all night) and for our trip, the other guests were coming home at 3:00AM in the morning and making a lot of noise. Playa del Carmen is very close to Xcaret, Xplor, Xel-ha, Tulum and a lot of cenotes that were really fun to swim in. We will definitely do this again soon.
Definitely an adult hotel. Parties, especially over the weekend, are sometimes held all night long. However, the hotel is recommendable. Very sylish, good breakfast buffet and pleasant service. I recommend it for party people.
Great place and staff was super friendly Can't wait for the return trip next spring . Bought the vacation package 3 years ago and couldn'tbe happier we go twice a year and was a great investment for our family. Really enjoy the option of going to any of the 3 resorts as a member
