Hotel Europa - Sorico

If you are looking for a truly authentic Italian experience and to enjoy the real beauty of Lake Como, then visit this family run hotel where they take pride in all they do to make your holiday memorable. The food in the restaurant is freshly prepared and lovingly and expertly cooked each day by Mamma Angela. By far the the best tortellini and tiramisu I have ever tasted. Service from Mattia and the rest of the family at dinner and at breakfast is excellent. Mattia switches effortlessly between Italian, English, Dutch, German, French (etc) to make guests feel welcome and he has produced some great guides to help you to make the most of the area whatever your interests and however you have travelled. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We chose a lakeside room with balcony which was perfect to sit out on after a day walking, cycling or site-seeing. Fully deserves its 5* rating.

We’ve been coming to this hotel for several years. There is a reason we keep coming back and that is because this is quite simply the best family run hotel we have come across. The hotel is situated close to the top of Lake Como with lovely views over surrounding mountains. The hotel is spotlessly clean with good quality rooms, some with balconies The Copes family are incredibly friendly with Mattia front of house along with his dad and his mum Angela does the cooking and prepares the most amazing local dishes. The pasta is to die for. There is ample parking on site and bikes/sports equipment is available to hire. For those who enjoy outdoor activity there is plenty on offer in the local vicinity All in all we cannot fault this hotel. For us it is a home from home and we look forward to returning in the future

Hotel Europa is a quiet, smaller and very clean hotel right by the lake. Excellent breakfast. Mattia and his family are very friendly and smiling, they can help with anything and overall there is a great atmosphere. I can 100% recommend this hotel and especially the homemade pasta for dinner - it's a dream! Lasagne, fettuccine, or tortelloni with spinach - wow fantasy. Mattia, thank you for everything!

This is an excellent hotel run by a very friendly family. The rooms are nice and clean and the service is great - always delivered with a smile. The food and service in the restaurant are really good, so make sure you try the restaurant when you stay. All in all, a great base for a holiday at the northern end of Lake Como.

We found a place for our soul! A silent and beautiful location at Como Lake with great homemade food and a caring family business. Clean and welcoming rooms, with places to relax inside the hotel and outside in the nature. This was the best hotel experience we have had in forty years of travelling. It is not a 4 star hotel but everything it does it does right, from initial booking to the welcome on arrival and being looked after. The hotel is immaculate in every respect. The food, all produced freshly by the family, is regional and delicious. It must have been because we had our evening meal in the restaurant every day of our seven day stay. Accurate and helpful advice is offered about where to go and how to get there. All the staff are superb and so friendly. We did not have the best of weather but still enjoyed our stay immensely. Regarding a previous review commenting on noise in the rooms, we did not hear a thing, the church bells were another matter. Many thanks to Mattia, family and staff.
