The staff you are greeted by as you check in are all very pleasant and helpful and that theme carries on throughout the hotel . Everyone we met were lovely . The room itself was perfect , immaculate and comfortable. Couldn’t ask for more. Breakfast each morning was very enjoyable and served by staff who also excelled by the attention they give you . First class and the chefs also deserve a mention as they produce great food and great chat . A fabulous hotel on every level

Outstanding hotel. Great location in walking distance of the docks, Liverpool One, train station and bustling nightlife - but - rooms were very quiet, we couldn't hear a thing (we were in room 303). Excellent facilities and rooms well-designed, with a large walk-in shower, very comfortable bed and high-quality bedding. Modern, pleasant decor throughout and very clean. What really stood out were the welcoming, happy, friendly and exceptionally helpful staff team. The team really couldn't do enough for you and that really shines through and makes all the difference. When we visit Liverpool again, this will be where we stay.

Exceptional! We have stayed in lots of different hotels in Liverpool but this is the best! You won’t be disappointed from arriving to leaving. Comfy beds, clean, excellent room facilities, shower great pressure, breakfast and service excellent. The staff including cleaners, maids all happy and efficient, friendly. Well done halyard! AVOID!!! We stayed here for 2 nights. Once we got home I realised £300 cash was missing from my bag. My bag was in my suitcase hidden under my clothes. Meaning the cleaner or whoever had access to the room rummaged through my stuff to find it. I never took it out the room so couldn’t have been taken at any other point. When we told the hotel all they said was we should have used the safe…. And that they would speak to management and come back to us, but shock they didn’t.

I have to say I am really impressed. I stayed here with friends for a hen do and I have had the nicest stay! The beds were comfy, there was a balcony which linked between the rooms so we could all join up there. They had a chocolate fountain in the lobby, and also the breakfast was incredible. Really enjoyed my stay and I will definitely return. I will say the only difficulty was parking, there is no dedicated car parking so I used on street parking though I think there is parking in a near by car park. Not marking the hotel down on this though because it’s super close to the train station so next time when I return I will come by train instead.

We stayed in the Halyard for a date night, the hotel is in a fabulous location. The decor is amazing, staff super friendly and helpful and most importantly the bed was sooo comfy!! Would recommend to anyone and definitely return! Thank you to the Halyard! Xx

NB - I'm being generous by giving 4 stars, but it's not possible to give 3.5, and it was better than a 3. IHG hotels are my first choice when I travel, and I was looking forward to trying the new Halyard property in Liverpool where we had concert tickets. The public spaces are lovely - light and airy with attractive furnishings. The bedrooms are, for the main, very nicely appointed. Large fluffy towels and a selection of proper wine glasses were particular plus points. We didn't hear any noise from outside, though that may have been because it was Sunday night. The bathroom is rather oddly constructed (sink outside and clunky sliding door), but full marks for not installing any glass panels as this is so annoying at night! We had dinner and breakfast in Voyager restaurant and both were really good - the small plates menu is worth going for even if you're not staying at the hotel, and it was a pleasant surprise to see a very reasonably-priced wine list. Service was impeccable and definitely enhanced the experience. Where it fell down for me was that there was no upgrade (it was Sunday and very quiet), or other recognition of IHG Diamond status. If The Halyard wants to attract current IHG members, it needs to get on board with this, as I'm not the only reviewer who's commented on this. Also, the "stocked mini bar" per the room description consisted of 2 cans of water - seriously?! Even Holiday Inns manage a couple of bottles of beer and a chunky Kit Kat!

From walking through the door, this hotel felt special. The hotel smelt beautiful and we were greeted warmly by the concierge and Nikita on reception, who checked us in quickly and even gave us vouchers for a free drink in the bar after discovering my husband and I were celebrating our birthdays! The room was of a modern design and was bright and spacious. Everything was immaculately clean and it was equipped with a coffee machine, thick and fluffy bath robes, slippers and gorgeous Temple Spa toiletries. The beds were extremely comfortable with soft, fluffy pillows. As we headed out to explore, the concierge offered us tips on the area, a tourist map and details of how to get a discount on the Tourist Bus. We loved exploring Liverpool and when we returned back to the hotel when enjoyed an hour in the bar. Again the staff were friendly and attentive, stopping for a chat as they walked past, but without being intrusive. After a great nights sleep, we went down for breakfast, which was of exceptional quality. We had everything we needed but were asked regularly if there was anything else we required, more juice, coffee or food. We checked out and left our luggage whilst we had another day exploring. Before heading home, we enjoyed a complementary hot chocolate with coconut rum (which was a nod to local history we were told) and had a lovely chat with Billy, the concierge, who told us more about the hotel and the area. I would urge anyone visiting this wonderful city to stay at this hotel. We couldn’t fault it!

It was an amazing stay. The room was beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff were lovely. We stayed for 2 nights and planned to eat in the restaurant on the first night but the food was so good we ate there again. Members of staff were friendly and helpful making sure that our stay was the best. They all seem incredibly proud of where they work and rightly so.
