As long as you’re aware that the bathrooms are tiny (蹲厕) and shared, and that soundproofing really isn’t possible at all with old wooden walls, it’s a perfect place to stay. As a solo, non-luxury traveler, the small bedrooms were exactly right for me. The guesthouse has all the necessary amenities while retaining its homey and informal, non-commercialized character. The owner is a local woman who is extremely friendly and warm, and who was constantly trying to prepare ever more food for me! I felt well taken care of, and would happily return.
