In terms of location, you’re unlikely to find a better place. The hotel is located right across from the entrance to Tallinn’s medieval old town. It is also conveniently connected to a shopping centre. The hotel, whilst renovated, is a little dated in keeping with its Soviet era heritage. But that itself lends character. Staff friendly and responsive. Beds very comfortable. The view from the rooftop bar is panoramic and magical at sunset. The KGB museum is worth a visit by itself and a fascinating relic of Estonia’s tragic but ultimately triumphant history. The lady guide for the KGB museum tour was great. Only downside is lack of block out curtains: which are essential in the summer months with the sun setting so late. It would also have been nice if the KGB Museum tour was included in the hotel rate, or at least if a discount was offered for guests.

I have no idea why this hotel is classed as 4*. I stayed in a tiny box room where the temperature could not be controlled and was just too hot for me. The window could only be opened slightly which kept shutting on its own accord! The staff did provide me with a fan though, which helped. There was no hospitality tray, which for a so called 4* is a basic. Their description says it’s 5 mins from the town Sq. It is NOT by any stretch of the imagination. It’s at least 15 mins, up a hill, then down a hill. It’s hard work. The breakfast service was an absolute shambles. Everything crowded together in one corner. A coffee machine that took ages to dispense coffee and i only wanted hot water. There was a massive queue for the buffet, then a queue for the drinks. Once you’ve got your food, there was no where left to sit, with people wandering around with plates of food. It was the most stressful breakfast service i’ve ever endured and the whole process took over an hour to complete. i was utterly fed up. Bed was comfy though. If i could have stayed somewhere else, i would have done. Not very pleasant for a holiday experience
We had a 5th anniversary with my girlfriend and decided to stay at Mövenpick Hotel Tallinn. We booked a few days in advance to get a deluxe room with enough space and a bath. The price for the booking was fair since the hotel was located in the city center and it was the holiday season. When we arrived at the hotel we went to the reception, paid for our stay and got our room cards. When we got to our room, something felt off, there was no bath, the room was quite tight and the location was next to the elevator. We were very confused and looked at the pictures online and our bookings again to make sure we chose the right room type and we confirmed ourselves that this was the wrong room, we gathered our things and went back to the reception. It turned out they had given us a standard room even tho we had booked a deluxe one and even paid for a deluxe room at the reception. The whole hotel was full and there was no alternative so we just had to settle with that, since we did not want to risk being without a stay for the night on our 5th anniversary. I don't understand, how can you ask for a deluxe room price for a stay, if you are out of deluxe rooms in the hotel. I know people make mistakes, but we felt cheated on at this point. If we arrived at the hotel and were informed of this firsthand, that there had been a mistake etc it would have been fine, but to charge for a deluxe room and give standard room cards and later make a surprise face, is just bad. To compensate for this we were promised 2 cocktails from the front bar and a 2 hour later check-in. We agreed to this since we did not have any choice. When we decided to go out in the evening and get our 2 cocktails we had a bad encounter with the lady keeping the bar. She was arrogant and did not know anything about this, so we spent quite a lot of time trying to convince her that we had a deal with the reception. She went to confirm this and when she came back she said we would have 2 soft drinks. Two soft drinks! You made a mistake, you apologized and offered to make up for it and then you decide to withdraw from your promise? That is just plain bad. We had loss of words and did not want to start a scene, we got our drinks and just went back to our hotel room. Overall, you can have a great location, you can have good breakfast, and a fancy hotel, but if the staff is arrogant and you get a taste of being cheated on, nothing fixes that.
ゲゲストMy stay in this hotel delighted me as much as Estonia itself and I really have already seen a piece of the world. Great minimalist interiors, well-used space and solutions that I have not seen anywhere in the world. In addition, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food. I felt wonderful here. You couldn't score a better location in the city center. The main department store is 5 min walk away, the beautiful Old Town is a 10 min walks, not to mention all the great restaurants and coffee shops that you only have to step out for. And for anything that's further away, the tram stop is pretty much next to the building. The apartment was very beautiful, stylisg and clean and remote check-in and check-out is great for those who want to be private and get a feel of actually ”living” in the apartment. The bed was super comfortable, the towels soft and there were even great quality soaps, shampoos etc in the bathroom (from Rituals). Everything you need in the kitchen as well + a coffee machine with beans. Even some books to read. My absolute only complaint would be the check-in and check-out times. 3pm check-in and 12am (like most hotels have) would be so much more convenient, especially when on vacation. NB! Keep in mind there's no elevator, so if you have a lot of stuff or a baby with a pram etc, that's just something to consider.
ゲゲストThe room was nice and clean. The bathroom was quite big, as well as the rest of the room. There was a lot of space to put your luggage, as well as a cupboard to store the clothes. The bed was a double bed which was nice to sleep on. Room included aircon, a fan and a TV.
