we tend to be fairly critical of hotels on our travels and this hotel was our absolute favorite place during our recent israel/jordan trip. it surpassed our expectations. twice we were surprised by above and beyond hospitality of the staff. location- fantastic- right on the lake with a small rocky beach to enjoy the lake. it is at one end of the retail section of town so set apart a bit but walkable to restaurants and stores. the parking was free with a secure lot. rooms-upon check in we were assigned a room. our reservation was for the cheapest category room. i asked for an upgrade and was told no. as we were walking away, one of the staff called us back to say actually they had a few rooms from which to choose. we got upgraded to a wonderful spacious room overlooking the lake. it was a beautiful room with a large balcony. the decor was modern and simple. spotlessly clean. very comfy bed and robes. food- the breakfast buffet was the best we had on ur trip. it's served in the restaurant area and also on the patio overlooking the lake and pool. it's just gorgeous and relaxing and sumptuous. lots of options. the only area for improvement would be to have a better of selection of fresh fruit. we had dinner at their evening restaurant which was excellent, high end food with prices to match. we were a bit surprised that they would not let us take home our leftovers. service- front desk staff very helpful. as mentioned, i asked for an upgrade and they showed us several rooms to choose from with a clear cut winner. facilities- the entire hotel has a very modern, which decor, with the patio furniture out of an architectural digest magazine. the pool was perfect temperature and always plenty of surrounding lounging areas. i asked the spa desk if we were allowed to be in the spa as hotel guests and she said no. another woman sitting next to her and on the phone somehow overheard our transaction and called me back to tell us that since the spa was closing in an hour or so we were welcome to enjoy the facilites! the huge jacuzzi was very relaxing. oddly they jacuzzi size was for about 15 people but the sauna and steam rooms would have only fit 3 people max. overall- spectacular hotel in many ways and worth every penny
