This hotel is in the middle range of everything. It's neither budget nor expensive. So, it needs to be viewed according. So, for the money, what's it like....Good actually. Its location for town centre and beach is great. Main bus station, shops, bars, restaurants all within very easy walking distance. There are 2 blocks to this hotel. But in reality, that doesn't matter as both entrances are 5 metres from each other, one is directly opposite the other. Reception and Restaurant for breakfast is in one block. Pool and bar in the other. Staff were all friendly, polite and receptionist was helpful with local advice etc. Breakfast buffet was perfectly fine. Lots of food, hot and cold. Bar area is a bit underwhelming really. There are loads of other bars around with a better vibe for less money. Bar is right next to the pool. Unfortunately, the pool is somewhat shaded all day and there never really gets a sunny spot that you can get settled in as the height of surrounding building means sunny spots keep moving. But, this is minor as sun lovers will go to the beach 5 mins away. Overall, I don't have any complaints and this hotel is well worth the money.

We arrived at 12.30 am to find the entrance closed. We were NOT informed before arrival that we would need to go to another hotel to check in if it was after a certain time. It was luck that there were 2 Spanish guests sat outside, who explained to us what we needed to do, or otherwise my daughter and myself would have had to have slept outside!! When we complained about this the following day, we were told by one of the receptionists , “well what do you want me to do about it?!” We had no apology She was quite rude, her manager came over, I asked as we had a big issue with checking in, if we could have a late check out, as a good will gesture, she told me to go back the day before we leave, but to then be told after a lot of discussion, that they could only give an hour. I found the reception girls quite rude, apart from one(I wish I could remember her name). Anyway, after the hassle of the check in, we arrived at our room , to find we had no shower attached to the wall!! (See photo) after the way they dealt with the check In situation, we didn’t even bother to complain about the shower. The hotel room walls are paper thin, you can here everything, and I really do mean everything!! We did not get much sleep. The pool looked nice, but we had to ask for sunbeds as there none out. pool area was in the shade, so if you like to relax and sunbathe this place is not for you. Hotel was clean and close to everything, Tossa is beautiful, myself and my daughter did have a great time, but would NOT recommend this hotel or their customer service to anyone.

A super basic hotel with nothing extra to it. Roof over the head and a clean place to rest. Thats it. The rooms have beds that looks like tent beds with thick matresses on. There were blankets that looked like flees would love to live there. One of the bed headboards had fell off and they couldn’t bother to fix it. The bedside lamp didn’t have any lamp shades - just annoying bulbs. In none of our rooms there were two bedside tables which means that one of us has to put the stuff on the floor instead. The cleaning staff was sweet but the receptionists didn’t even have the politeness to greet the guests.

The staff at the hotel are all very helpful, my issues are ...The buffet breakfast was always cold...yes there is a microwave but a fried egg doesn't work well !! The pool was great but was weary of the steps(ladder) as it was abit on the wobbly side...did inform them... Bar issues only seemed to be open certain times (strange hours)...snacks !! Buy your own !! 2 issues with the room but they were resolved as soon as it was reported Beds were comfy an everything was always clean. The hotel is ideally located for town and beach....

This is the second time I have stayed at the Mar de Tossa. Great location, reasonable price and comfortable room. Breakfast choices are better than most.

Beautiful hotel and hospitality. Everything is stylish, comfortable. Well located. Ideal also for jogging.

The hotel is conveniently located. The three-Star is for the lack of available parking (and expensive if there were spots!). We had to figure out where to park on our own. Then, we weren't told about WiFi provided by the hotel when there actually is... So we used our SIM card to connect (don't be fooled, WiFi is not available that easily). The pool is very small. Jump in and get out. Our duplex was nice, though we missed having a sink just to wash off our hands when entering. The bathroom is on the second floor... The terrace was a nice setup to have breakfast outside.
