We stayed here for 7 days after spending 3 days in Dubai. We were treated like VIPs from the minute we landed at Male airport. The service was exceptional. On arrival, we were greeted by Marcel, the GM, with a ‘drum’ welcome and palm leaf necklace, following which we were introduced to our room buddy Choatey who could not do enough for us. Special thanks too to Sunshine at the beach bar who really does live up to her name, Hasif our room boy who ensured our room was pristine every day and created the most spectacular artwork on our bed from leaves and flowers, to Suva, Aria and Ida in the bar and restaurant who never failed to smile and provide great service. The food was delicious and we particularly enjoyed the waterfront restaurant. That said, the palm grill was great and the Social House buffet restaurant had a great atmosphere and felt like a restaurant (rather than a cafeteria) with a great selection of food. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday who was 60 in October and he was utterly spoilt. We have stayed at some gorgeous 5 star hotels across the world and we kept asking ourselves what makes Ifuru and the Maldives so special - we think it’s the island itself, we had a beach apartment with direct access to our own part of the beach and the snorkelling right in front of you where we saw the most amazing marine life. It’s also the attention to detail - we had our own airbeds and life jackets, umbrellas when needed. Every time we bumped into Marcus, he seemed to know what restaurant we were eating in that night and arranged some lovely birthday treats for my hubby. Choatey arranged for us to be able to have a late checkout as we weren’t leaving until 6pm which made our last day a full one and very relaxed. Thank you for making our stay so memorable 🥰
