ブルーベル・イン(The Blue Bell Inn)

Stayed 3 nights in this excellent village Inn and, on the final day, held a family Sunday Lunch for 15 in the private dining room. The room was comfortable, the facilities adequate and the breakfasts were superb. However, the highlight was the Sunday lunch. Everything cooked and presented to perfection. My five Canadian relatives , who experienced their first traditional Sunday Roast, were most impressed. Thank you Karl, Julia and Paula for making our stay a huge success.

We booked the small double (cheapest) and it was small but spotlessly clean, lovely tea tray, TV, shower room, so everything you need. We only stayed one night so the size of the room was not a problem. We were welcomed with a smile, we ate in the evening and the food was freshly cooked and tasty. Desert was massive! The lady who was running the bar and restaurant area was an absolute pleasure, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast had plenty of choice although we are not big breakfast eaters but what we had was great. Nice big car park, lots of outside seating but it was too cold to take advantage of it.

Excellent overnight stay. Room was clean and spacious with quality coffee making apparatus and the complimentary water and biscuits was a nice touch. Pub has an ‘olde world’ feel to it. Food was extremely good, we had the roast duck and a lamb shank, deserts were available though we didn’t indulge. Staff very polite and attentive. Beer couldn’t be faulted (Timmy Taylor Landlord). Very good full Yorkshire breakfast of locally sourced produce. Very enjoyable stay, we will visit again.

Thank you so much for a lovely weekend away with my wife and daughter, From the moment we arrived,Julia greeted us at the door and showed us to our room which was perfect, clean and comfortable, we got changed and went for our evening meal which was amazing, The food there is top quality with a great choice of wines . The breakfast too , we was spoilt for choice, all served by brilliant staff who was so polite and couldn’t do enough to please. For all the bad reviews I personally think most have nothing better to complain about and need to get a life . This place is a gem , Thank you Karl and Julia x

We rarely go back to a place no matter how good … made an exception for this place. A great welcome - the staff are really friendly with a sense of humour . Lovely little village for a night away. Worth upgrading to the Champagne rooms. The food in the evening was amazing.. I had crispy beef salad starter and chicken with a mushroom sauce for mains. This place is very dog friendly. All in all a really chilled and relaxed stay… great breakfast in the morning……. The only downside was we went walking at Flamborough the following day ….. couldn’t see the cliffs in the fog…. Not sure who I can blame for that! Would totally recommend this place.

Ate here the last 3days.The food is absolutely delicious.The staff are cheerful, friendly,polite and look after you thoroughly.We are so pleased we have found this gem.We will be back in September.Thankyou Val,Ann,Heather and Denise ( and Ash the dog)

Hubby and I have stayed at the Blue Bell on 4 separate occasions and to be honest have, on those 4 occasions had an absolutely fabulous time. Karl and Julia are awesome hosts, their staff from chefs, waiters, waitresses and even the cleaners are just fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for this fabulous group of people. The rooms are just breathtaking and tastefully decorated. The food is just out of this world and are gastronomic masterpieces. I wholeheartedly recommend the belly pork for a main and the dark chocolate Cointreau cheesecake or Baileys crème brûlée for a desert. This place is my home from home - just love it. xxx

My partner and I stayed overnight at the Blue Bell. From our welcome in the bar to our departure the next day the whole experience was faultless. We stayed in the Bollinger room in an annexe a few paces from the main pub. The room itself was spotless with a very comfortable bed. There was instant coffee and tea bags in the room but the addition of a cafetière and fresh ground coffee was the icing on the cake. If I were to pick one fault with the room was that the shower was a bit on the weak side but that did not detract from the experience. I am a light sleeper and was worried that with the room overlooking the road through the village I was in for a disturbed night. However, I was proved wrong. It was a quiet and peaceful nights sleep. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and I was very pleasantly surprised to have one of the best restaurant meals I have had. The service from the staff was second to none, attentive but not intrusive. And the wine recommendation to go with our meal, Coquile de Mer, was perfect; so perfect we had to have a second bottle! Breakfast, again, was exemplary, with a wide choice to start the day with. Throughout our stay we were made to feel welcome and nothing seemed to be too much trouble even when the restaurant was busy. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
