The Langley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Buckinghamshire

What a hidden gem. We were shocked to find such a tranquil oasis so close to the city and Heathrow. The grounds & trails, the rooms & architecture, the spa, the gym, the food, and the staff were all fantastic. Kerena and the team are so thoughtful. We went for a baby moon and they prepared a wonderful spa treatment for my wife and had a full body pillow waiting on the bed. The staff & food in both the restaurant and lounge was amazing, particularly the veal dishes and spinach side. Great green juices at breakfast. Very much lives up to the reputation and well worth the price. Top to bottom extremely well-run luxury retreat. Thank you so much for an amazing experience!

The hotel is nice , but definitely not luxury and definitely not worth the money . Hence the 2 stars. At a fraction of the price it would be 4/5 stars . The rooms and hotel are nice , the service is ok but not 5 stars . The restaurant is so average and overpriced. We were the only ones in there which didn’t help . Some things that we would expect with a five star luxury hotel that they claim to be Firstly if there for 50th birthday, make a fuss and maybe a small cake etc as promised. My husband called and emailed several times and they were unaware of this on check in . With breakfast they charged extra for mushrooms ! I have stayed in many many nice hotels and never bern charged extra at breakfast. I was charged for my mushrooms as i had avocado n eggs on toast and my daughter wasn’t as she only had eggs and toast. They add on service on everything including the room , breakfast which is included etc

Lovely stay for our anniversary for the second year in a row. Not cheap but really lovely, quieter and more personal alternative to a similar style total in the Watford area. As always really lovely service from the front of house team. Special mention for Kerena who is really helpful and friendly. Dinner was excellent too and the restaurant staff were very friendly too.

Needed to break my long trip from Cape Town , South Africa, home to California for a night and wanted use a Marriott Bonvoy property. The hotels near Heathrow were pretty unappealing (Sheraton, Moxy, Courtyard etc) and I did not wish to go into Central London . I found this fantastic hotel on the Marriott app and it was only 9-10miles from Heathrow, so I booked. I love older, stately , historic homes and hotels and so choosing this hotel fit the bill completely. While I did arrive at night, so couldn't see much of the property, I did get to walk around the next morning. If you can imagine a sumptuous Country Manor on a large estate then this is The Langley. The reception area was beautiful and the front desk staff and footman were So kind , friendly and efficient. I was booked into a room in the Brewhouse which is a large building opposite to the main Manor house and staff told me it used to be the brewery and staff quarters. My room was sumptuously furnished with everything that one could need or desire , with lovely soft cotton linens and towels. Unfortunately the room was EXTREMELY hot when they opened the door and I stated that I could not even be in the room with that temperature much less , sleep in it. We were able to turn off the heat and I opened all the windows (fortunately they all open) and the front door so the room could cool down while I took a lovely shower in the marble bathroom. I landed up sleeping with the. windows open as I like a nice cool room and fresh air . Had a great sleep and the bed was super comfortable . Count figure out the Illy coffee machine but enjoyed an early morning cup of tea in my room. Breakfast was fantastic in a lovely dining room, decorated for the Christmas season in a tasteful manner. The service in the dining room was exceptional ,but also un-intrusive. The options were numerous and the food was well prepared and tasty. The staff all kept telling me about how big the spa facility is here, but sadly as I had a plane to catch back to the US, I was out of time. I have decided that this will be my future London place to stay when visiting or breaking my overseas journeys for a night or two . I honestly felt that this was a bit like staying at a Downton Abbey with all the beauty around me and the attention to detail by all the staff. Already looking forward to my next stay at The Langley .

This hotel needs the review to be broken into 2 parts: one for the accomodations team and one for the Food & Beverage team. The accomodations team was excellent, as was the room. Warm welcome, comfy bed and high end amenities (we were in the Brew House building). I can't recommend it enough and the housekeeping was excellent. As to Food and Beverage, the dinner was poor in their high end restaurant (Sunday night). The starters were clearly old, fridge stored/pre-made, and the lamb was horribly overcooked. Maybe the main team is off on Sunday nights - but if so, just close the fine dining restaurant. The wine list was out of date with many wines missing, and newer vintages were being offered despite older vintages being listed. Also, very odd that while almost empty they insisted on seating us directly next to the other two dining groups. Worse was the bar - we went both nights - and each time the younger men working the bar were more interested in looking at their phones than waiting on the guests and serving them. Numerous times I had to 'interrupt' them playing on their phones to get a drink, get a menu, request a bill etc... While the drinks were very good, the male staff in the bar were well below the standard this establishment needs.

We had a great stay. Staff was great, room was clean and nice and the food and drinks were great; there was just one thing that really bothered me... Behind the outdoor pool is a small pen with two pygmy goats. Feeding, grooming and keeping the pen clean were all A+, but as a person who has had pygmy goats, it was clear that both were depressed since they do not get out of the pen to run free and play (there are dogs everywhere here). I've never seen two young goats so docile. Of course they perk up if someone has food but I visited them multiple times...they did not know how to play like regular goats and their demeanor was strange as though hey were sedated. Goats are very playful and lively creatures, love humans and are sweet natured. To be hidden behind the pool and the 10' hedgerow is cruel enough, but these creatures deserve better than a lovely little prison pen. Filling their mental health needs is a must as well. Additionally, there was one peacock left out of 8 (I was told by multiple staff members) because the foxes had killed the rest. If I had known animals were being used as entertainment I would have not booked here. I do not believe people are booking this beautiful hotel because there are two pygmy goats behind the pool. Langley Management: please find other ways to entertain children at the hotel and find those goats a good home where they can run and all-around healthy.

The spa and pool facilities are phenomenal. Easily the best hotel spa in the UK. Beautiful communal areas and grounds. The dining options are slightly limited both in the restaurant, spa and room service. We were charged £6 for a hot latte and £9 for a iced latte and both of them only half filled the taco cup that they were given in. Not sure why that iced latte cost £3 more when it was exactly the same, just cold not hot. Also service charge included on all food and drinks.

This is a beautiful property, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is very conveniently located when flying out of Heathrow. If you book a suite, I would recommend requesting not to be in the Lady Abigail Suite. It has very low ceilings, which would be problematic for a long stay or anyone over 6'.

Truly a 5 star experience in a boutique hotel with a lot of history! Proximity to LHR while still very quiet makes it a great choice.
