I have been travelling over 10 oversea ski resorts/hotels and here was a unique experience.
As always, something was good and something was bad.
Good things;
1) Location: one of the best hotel to get to the gondola/lifts. No doubts about this.
2) Wide underground parking area
3) Cooking facilities in room
4) Easy access to restaurants and shops
5) Nice sauna and swimming pool
Bad things;
1) Too expensive for its overall service and facilities. Actually all hotels in whistler are overrated.
2) Strong Aussie accent from front staff. Very difficult to listen.
3) Strange bellboy service system in this hotel. They never allow for me to use the "tray" to move my items. They basically monoply all transportant within the hotel. And I can never "borrow" any tray for my own transportation. They are the great "gate keepers" of this hotel.
4) 11 CAD $/ day is a bit expensive for ski strage. Most Japan and European resorts provide ski storage room and guests store them selves.
Possibly many of those bad things would be the systematic problem of whole whistler resort, not only the problem of this specific hotel.
So I will visit either Europe of Japan for my next ski travel rather than north America which is too much crowded and too much overrated.
