Jihongchang's former residence is located at No. 5 Garden Road, Heping District, Tianjin. It is a three-storey English-style small foreign building with a brick and wood structure and courtyard. It is also called "Red Building" because of its red brick wall appearance. The building was first built in 1917 and was designed by Sadley, an engineer from Bishop Yipin Company. The building has 11 buildings, 2 bungalows and 2 halls. The building is now used by Tianjin Peace Hospital. Patriotic general Ji Hongchang bought the building of 40 Road in French Concession in 1930, and the whole family moved in the following year. At the time of the national calamity, he and Feng Yuxiang, the former chairman of the Ningxia government, formed the anti-Japanese allied forces and took charge of the former enemy's commander-in-chief. In 1933, the Anti-Japanese Allied Army failed under the attack of Chiang Kai-shek and the Japanese aggressors. Ji Hongchang returned to Tianjin to live here and continued his anti-Japanese activities. In 1934, he was arrested at the Tianjin Hotel and then secretly killed. After Ji Hongchang's uprising, the small building he lived in was once the site of anti-Japanese activities. In 1944, the Red Mansion was sold to others. In 1955, it bought a joint clinic with Chinese medicine in Heping District. It is now the Peace Hospital.
