Tianhou Palace is a very iconic and long-standing Chinese temple in Malaysia. During the Spring Festival, many Chinese people go there to gather full of Chinese New Year's flavor as if they were in China. Even more, the air here is full of Chinese homesickness.

The Tianhou Palace in Penang, also known as the Qiongzhou Guild Hall, was originally called the Hainan Guild Hall. In the early years, all the materials for building the Guild Hall were shipped from China to Penang. Today, the building was rebuilt in 1895, mainly to worship the patron god of seafarers, Mazu.
