The Museum of Modern Art is a museum in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It is also one of the most outstanding collections of modern art in the world. It is called MOMA for short. Located on 53rd Street in Manhattan (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues), the museum is often compared with the Metropolitan Museum, which has fewer collections than the former, but has more important collections in the field of modern art. The Museum of Modern Art was founded in 1929. Its sponsors are mainly Abby · Aldridge · Rockefeller (wife of Rockefeller Jr.), Mary · Queen · Mary Quinn Sullivan and Lily · Lillie P. Bliss; its construction and collection management are mainly financially supported by the Rockefeller family. The backers of the 1940s and 1950s are Mary Quinn Sullivan and Lillie P. Bliss.
