バンベルク大聖堂の向かいには大きな広場があります。広場の隣にはローマ皇帝と大司教が住んでいた新しい皇居があります。実は観光客たちが一番興味を持っているのは新皇居の後ろのバラ園です。バラ園からは聖ミシェル教会が遠くに見え、バンベルク旧市街全体を見渡すことができます。ここは最高の展望台です。
