Shocked at how low Ubud is rated on here. I guess that would be because it doesn’t have an easily accessible beach? I for one loved Ubud. It’s a bit pricier compared to Kuta but much and I mean MUCH more relaxing. You’re always within walking distance of a rice terrace or some cool local shops. Go down to Ubud center (not sure the actual name of the street) and find all kinds of neat shops, restaurants, and maybe night life...the last part isn’t my thing so I’m not totally sure. I definitely recommend checking out Bali Buda and the bookstore that’s on the same corner. Also, be careful riding your motorbike in Ubud. The roads are much skinnier than Kuta, Canggu, etc. but the drivers are just as wild and crazy. Better to be cautious than in a hurry here.
