This was a last-minute addition to our itinerary & it turned out to be the best accom of the trip. Perfect location in the heart of the ancient town with the balcony overlooking 观圣桥. Absolutely beautiful. Room was big & beautifully decorated. The bathtub was also excellent. Lots of food & places to explore nearby. It was just opposite the hill 石屏山 where we climbed for a great view of the town. We also went up 青龙洞 & got some stunning shots of the buildings.
Our recent stay in Room 1515 of the hotel for 3 nights from March 22 was very satisfactory and experienced warmth and excellent service from front receptionists and room service staffs. The arrangements for brunch to provide from 7:00 AM to Noon was superb and can further help to satisfy most travellers with time flexibility, a big plus. As a couple with strict vegetarian diet, the warm respondsive service to cater our special request to provide extral fresh vegetarian hot noodle soup for the three days were grateful and appreciated. We will highly recommend this hotel.
I want to give 5 stars for the service too. Alas the front desk could not honour the free gifts. First, the front desk said these discounted tours are offered by their tour agency partner and any correspondence are between me and the agency. Well that's fine, but then later they conveyed that the tour agency rejected contacting me because I do not have a Chinese mobile number ”because they were afraid they could not contact me”. I am staying at their hotel for 4 nights, I am connected to the front desk by WeChat, I offered to share my WeChat ID, and I have never had an issue booking any tour with just a WeChat ID all over China. If they don't want to deal with foreigners, then don't offer these numerous ”free gifts” on an international booking platform.
4 stars for amenities as there was only one washing machine available and usage was restricted from 10pm to 10am. I could not use it because it was always being used by someone else and every time they choose 1 hour washes. This was the situation during low peak travel season. Imagine during their peak travel season?
Everything else was perfect. Room was clean and housekeeping was done everyday. Hotel is in a good location as there are delicious eateries right outside the hotel and near to the subway.
ゲゲストHighly recommend! We stayed here in April with our kids and everything about Zhaoxing Dong village and this hotel is so heartwarming and memorable! A trip we will remember forever! The owner is from Yunnan. He and all the staff are incredibly helpful, kind and friendly! Communication was clear before we arrived. They messaged us on WeChat and picked us up from the train station and brought our luggage to the hotel. The breakfast lady makes the most delicious soup noodle every morning and the hami melon is so sweet! Breakfast is served on the rooftop and the view in the morning is so serene as the town is still quiet. The hotel was even were so kind to make a bowl of soup noodle when our kids were not feeling well one evening. And the breakfast lady personally walked me to a local shop that sells handmade herbal shampoo to help promote healthy hair! I was so moved by her friendliness to share the towns local best kept secrets. There is a free green shuttle that picks up every few blocks within the town: this was very handy when traveling with kids who get tired from walking easily. Thank you for a personal and heartwarming stay! ❤️❤️
ゲゲストThe hotel is located mid-hill with panoramic views as seen in my photos. Room was clean and service is friendly, there is a porter who helped to carry our luggage from the observation deck to the hotel after the shuttle dropped us off. The family room is very large with three partitions: kids room, parents room and a small living area with sofa and writing desk.
They also provide washing machine and dryer for self service. The aircon in the room provides both heating and cooling function which is very useful for cold nights on the mountain.
To get to the village Main Street where all the performances, restaurants and attractions are, you will need to climb down the hill and back up again to return. Hence it’s not advisable for those with very young children or old people with mobility issues to stay here.
