The hardware is good but the service staff is generally terrible. Try to do the minimal and try to ignore you if they can. The rooms are too warm to sleep in although the outside temperature is zero. Keep blaming the customer for booking a windowless to room when the real problem is the inability of the hotel to control the temperature for individual room. There are also a hose off other issues which I won't waste time to elaborate here
We had an excellent stay in Homm Changchun Beihu. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, the lobby was very tastefully decorated, and staff was available to attend to all our needs. The hot spring was very relaxing, with both indoor and outdoor pools. We really enjoyed the ethnic photography session as well, and topped up for extra photos as it was very professional. Overall, a very pleasant and memorable stay in Changchun!
Nice hotel and great location beside The Hill mall. Also a few malls opposite the road. Bustling at night and convenient. Polite staff and nice service. Bathroom and separate toilet was nice and clean.
ゲゲストThe staff were very kind and we were impressed by their sincere attitude toward the guests. We booked the Gyegok trekking through Trip.com, but as foreigners, we had trouble communicating with the trekking company. The manager helped us, and we had a wonderful time that will remain a pleasant memory.
If we have the chance to come to Changbai Mountain again, we would definitely choose this hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We are truly grateful for the warm hearts of all the staff.
Also, grilling skewers and enjoying a glass of soju in the hotel parking lot was an unforgettable delight.
ゲゲストWhat a trip! The rooms are MASSIVE. It's essentially a full apartment. Very spacious and comfortable. The beds are extra extra large so perfect for families.
For Western travellers, you may find the bed a bit hard. We were perfectly happy with it though.
I personally will recommend Holiday Inn at the resort for those with kids. It's right next to the beginner tracks and that hotel hosts all the children activities and kids club. Though I don't know what the room is like. More from a location perspective.
Wanda Jin Suites has 2 buildings. Best to get the 1st building as much closer to the beginner tracks and the service centre to rent ski gears. We were in the 2nd building.
I will say from a location perspective, it was inconvenient for us as once you have snow boots on, it's a trek to carry your ski gears back and forth. There are lockers to put your ski gears in so we'll utilise that more next time. You do need WeChat though and if you don't have a local number, it gets difficult. If you're from Australia, just lose the 0 and add 18 at the front of your mobile number and that will get you through. But best to just get a local SIM to save you the hassle.
But from a food perspective, they're right outside the building and short walk to the hot springs and the water park which is all included in the hotel fees. Including ski pass and going to the snow playground. At the snow playground, there's snowmobiles for kids to ride on amongst a lot of other activities. But that's extra money. Again, need WeChat.
The hotel concierge when you check in will add you into their WeChat and you can ask them questions and they'll help you. Very convenient.
It's an amazing place to come with kids. Water park is insane there and my son had a blast. The hot spring was also an amazing experience. Though very cold to get in and out of the hot springs at -20C.
There are other activities outside the resort which hotel concierge will help you arrange. They can also shuttle you to the nearby village for more authentic food if you don't want to eat inside the resort.
Beaware that the pharmacy at the resort does not have any ibuprofen or paracetemol.
Strongly advise you get WeChat. You can book pretty much all the activities through their WeChat mini app. Including ski coaches. There are rogue ski coaches coming up to you to get business so beware. We almost got on a shuttle with a rogue coach that were gonna take us elsewhere and weren't even letting adults come (it was for the kids) and a hotel staff came up and essentially stopped them and forced them to give back the deposit. Book your coaches early. They book out quick. Particularly snowboarding.
We also booked an igloo making class for our son and he had an amazing time. Though it's all in Mandarin of course. They have half day and full day camps for kids so parents can drop off and chill for the day.
The staff here can barely speak English so bring your AI translator with you. We had less of a problem since I can speak Chinese but my husband often got stuck and needed me or even my son to help navigate around.
Make sure you go back to the counter after returning your ski gear at the end of your stay to get your deposit back.
We had an amazing time and would consider coming back.
Bbenny67Staying at the Wanda Holiday Inn Select Changbai Mountain provided a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean and well-organized, with soft and comfortable bedding. In the morning, you could enjoy the breathtaking view of snow-covered mountains. The hotel’s breakfast was abundant, warm, and delicious. A shuttle bus for the ski resort is located downstairs, making it extremely convenient for skiing excursions. Li Xu, the hotel’s front desk staff, was warm and helpful, answering all questions promptly and resolving issues efficiently!
ゲゲストThe hotel is very nice. Absolutely ALL the staff is super friendly and are always willing to help, despite not speaking the language they have made an effort to meet all our needs. The room surprised us a lot, because everything is perfect for the children. We were there with our 3 children (11, 5 and 3 years old) and the truth is that there is entertainment for all ages! There is small football, board games, ping pong table, billiard table, karaoke, there are also chicks and alpacas and a panda show. Breakfast is very well stocked, there is food for all tastes. The pools and hot springs are in very good condition. Thank you very much to all the staff for making us feel welcome the whole time, we will definitely be back very soon.
MMatt DurrheimFor the price it's amazing. We went for the ski slopes and got to try them all in 5 days. Breakfast included was adequate. 15 minutes from Wanda and 30 minutes from luneng. If you're going to share a room and ski at Wanda every day, it would be worth staying at the slopes, otherwise stay here.
FFang ChinNice and quiet hostel, rooms are clean. We went at a low season hence got upgraded to family suit. The view outside is great in winter. Only provide 2 radiators in room which may not be adequate in December to January. Location a bit far from town but generally not difficult to get taxi (in low season - late November).
