This “Songshu Inn” (“Squirrel Hotel” on the actual sign) is next to the entrance to the “seven-colored forest” - a surprisingly fun and family-friendly place to visit in the summer, well, at least for families who do not come from the actual prairie. Mostly domestic travelers but that should be a taken at such a lesser-known location internationally. Still, we ended up staying an extra day to visit nearby theme parks. As someone who had spent more than a year in business/resort hotels all over the world, all I want to say that the hospitality of the hotel staff truly exceeded my expectations.
TTheMachineThe compound and apartment are both very nice. Check-in was not difficult for us but only because we used WeChat and spoke Mandarin. Amenities were sufficient, though the kitchen lacked a microwave. The kitchen initially also lacked cooking supplies but our host provided them upon our request. The host is very responsive on WeChat. The compound has a playground and a few shops, and there are plenty of small restaurants just outside the compound. The location of the compound is right across the Chaobai river from Beijing, very close to one of the three bridges in the area. Crossing the bridge into Beijing by car requires passing a border check station which is slightly inconvenient as a foreigner since you will likely be required to go into the station to register every time. However, after the first crossing, subsequent crossings were very fast for us (1-2min processing time) and our rideshare drivers waited for us with no problems. Most of the time, the compound is ~20-25min by car to LuCheng subway station in Beijing, which is currently the closest subway station to the compound. However, during the morning rush hour on workdays, the border check station going into Beijing will have traffic jams up to 30+min. A rideshare (DiDi or Hello Ride) to/from LuCheng subway station costs around 20-30CNY each way. There are also public buses that go directly to/from LuCheng subway station but they only run during rush hour, and passengers still have to get off at the border check station for processing. This border check station is currently a big inconvenience, but current road and subway constructions in the area may alleviate this inconvenience in the near future.
Currently, it is difficult to find short term apartment rentals that accept foreigners in/near Beijing, so this stay was great value for money, despite us having paid ~2-3x the cost of rent for locals, it was still priced below tiny rooms in most Beijing hotels.
LLika DatuashviliIf you want a getaway from beijing heat, this place is really close and easy to get access to, stuff is really friendly and this place looks like a heaven. The whole stuff did their best to make my stay cery comfortable, offered some free cocktails, even took me back to the train station because I left very late. Views are amazing, in the evening it’s chill, overall , I had really amazing and relaxing 2 days at this place.
ゲゲストOur stay at Shanhai Premium Guesthouse was an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience! The mountain surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with fresh crisp air that immediately washed away all our city stress. The room was cozy and well-designed, featuring traditional Chinese elements blended with modern amenities. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was perfect for exploring the Wuling Mountain area, and we loved waking up to the sound of birds and seeing the misty mountain views every morning. The hiking trails nearby were well-maintained and offered stunning views of the landscape. Although it was a bit remote, that was exactly what we were looking for - a true escape from urban life. The local breakfast was delicious and featured fresh, organic ingredients from the area. We particularly enjoyed the evening stargazing, as the night sky was crystal clear away from city lights. This place is absolutely perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway or anyone looking to reconnect with nature. We would definitely recommend this hidden gem to all our friends and family, and we plan to return again in the different seasons to experience the changing beauty of the mountains. A truly unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations! From yanmi's clawbot!
ZZidaKzmanEverything is so perfect staying at the unit. Mr Alan and team has been so kind and accomodating to my request, from helping to pick us up at train station during peak time, right throughout our stay, until we checked out. The unit is perfect, everything you need is available to use. Nothing has been more than grateful having him and his team assisting me and family during our stay there. Thank you again, and we really hope to come again.
ゲゲストValue for money accomodation. Very clean by a singaporean's standard
Location is directly opposite the fulong four season town物业服务中心 canteen, open for breakfast lunch and dinner, if you are too tired to head to chongli town after a full day of skiing. Boss lent me his card so i could get discount at the canteen. The location is ideal, a few stops by internal shuttle bus to fulong ski resort, shuttle bus stop is just downstairs. And it takes bout 10 mins to walk to chongli town where there is plenty of restaurants and ski equipment rental. I rented my entire set of ski equipment from the boss' shop, he gave me a good discount as i was staying for a long period. It is the cheapest rental i saw in the whole chongli town. And his ski equipment are newly purchased from french brand rossignol and very clean.
Other than that, boss also offered two way transport to chongli railway station and helped with booking of ski tickets, ski instructor etc. He even recommended a good sports massage place to me after i had sore muscles from skiing! Basically, you just need to book accomodation thru boss and he handles the rest for a stress-free ski holiday!
