I am a foreigner and ALL Diamond who stayed for 3 weeks on a work trip. The hotel is modern; there is little wear and tear noticeable in the common areas or in the rooms. The rooms are small, but are clean with modern fixtures and appointments; the bed was really comfortable, but a queen bed in a junior suite reflects the small size of rooms. Shower water pressure is good but is offset by bad drainage. The placement of the shower, the tiling, and the absence of a screen or curtain around the bathtub mean that the shower must be hand-held or the water floods the floor - I slipped a few times climbing out. The small room and few storage space make it hard to unpack; the shelf for the suitcase does not have a light so I cannot avoid unpacking either. The restaurant offers a mix of vegetarian and meat options and a handful of non-spicy offerings during its dinner buffet - though not enough to justify its price vis-a-vis other international hotels. On the 3 occasions I ordered room service (not easy as nothing in the room told me how to use the TV or that the QR code is on a TV channel), once the order was wrong, and once drinks were missing - and when they brought them next they charged me again. Each time I got sick from food this trip was from the hotel - so I only ate the included breakfast once in 21 mornings. Ironically, they try to make me sign a waiver each time I bring outside food. The business centre advertised on the website does not exist. As “substitute” they offer to print any document I email to reception - which cannot work for confidential or privileged documents (a point to which I received no reply). The one time I did email printing to them, reception told me the email could not be found. This hotel would still be my first and only choice in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar if not for the almost total lack of consistency or responsiveness in its service. Some of the restaurant staff are friendly and helpful to a fault, while some are curt and/or indifferent; one even brought me the bill before I was even done. I had to ask 4 times over 2 days to get extra coat hangers. My dry cleaning returned a day late and only after I chased - no one apologised or told me why it was late - certainly no discount on the dry cleaning charge. They asked my preferences for daily newspapers only after I have been there for 2 weeks, and offered to have fruit in my room - but in 3 weeks I only got 1 newspaper and 2 serves of fruit - and housekeeping took the cutlery away after one night. When a bag was left behind, they very kindly found a box to put it in and printed address labels for me (and I offered repeatedly to pay them for this service) - but it took 5 days and 7 texts to get its measurements - and I only ever received the length and width (no height). When I called to see why my courier did not collect the box, 2 people gave me 3 different reasons. Even being credited my ALL points required chasing - and when they did they only credited points
