We booked 7 nights stay at El Refugio and when we arrived were warmly welcomed by Jan and Ria (the hosts) and offered refreshment. They had the time to chat with us and learn about our interests in the area and how they could advise us on places to visit. The accommodation is exceptionally clean and comfortable and we loved the many different areas to relax in including sunbeds all of which give a fantastic view of the area. The sunsets from here are magical and you will have some of the best views in the area if not the best. You can access refreshments including snacks, soda, wine and beer through their honesty bar and you have access to free water, coffee and tea throughout your stay. We enjoyed our stay so much and Ria and Jan were great hosts and have the best balance of ensuring you have time to relax and enjoy the accommodation and be available when needed. Don't hesitate to book.

Spending time in a B&B is more then the Bed and the Breakfast. This place goes beyond the Bed (actually very good beds) and the Breakfast (which is also perfectly served with adequate variation). The location, the very well decorated rooms, the swimming pool, the numerous quite places, the privacy, the food (tapas are great)..... and above all, the hospitality of the owners. TOP

Such a great stay!! Beautifully decorated rooms (the establishment has a total of four rooms, two smaller ones and two with a sitting area). WiFi and aircon are readily available and work wonderfully. Although you need a car to stay in this location, the views are stunning and the possibility of enjoying a dip every day is great. Beds and pillows in the bedrooms are really comfy and firm; also, there are black-out curtains for sleeping-in in the morning and there are no noises from the outside world or your neighbours... Breakfast (including coffee) is really yummy and the owners are more than happy to adjust it to your wishes. Although the bedrooms don't have a fridge, you may ask the owners to use a corner of the fridge (in the honesty bar) and that will work wonders. Truly, the hosts are the best ever, thank you JT and Ria! Truly recommended.

A beautiful peaceful B&B up in the mountains. Very friendly hosts. Wonderful healthy breakfast included with homemade jams. Lovely pool. Views amazing. A very special place just inland from the hustle and bustle of the coast. Would definitely return!

Perfection! This place is a place for your soul to rest. Rooms, the house, the garden and the pool is very clean and everything works well. The scenery is absolutely stunning. The hosts are so kind and warm people. We got many tips for hikes, car routes and restaurants. Peace, relax and nature; this is the place to be. We will definitely come back!

Just had a long weekend in this gem of a place, absolutely stunning place. The hosts were beautiful people of so much knowledge of where to go in the area. We will definitely be returning again, the holiday was the most relaxing but also lots of places to visit, highly recommended.

We hebben echt genoten van onze tijd bij Jan Theun en Ria in El Refugio. Alles is tot in detail verzorgd. De kamer was schoon en sfeervol ingericht, de tuin is goed onderhouden met prachtig uitzicht en elke dag start je met een vers ontbijt dat met zorg wordt klaargemaakt. De eigenaren voelen goed aan wat de behoefte van de gasten is waardoor we ons meteen thuis voelden.
