Enjoyed every night here. Complimentary adult beverage at the bar first night stay of the hotel was nice. But the best part was knowing 24 hr beach access right in front of our room was the best decision I ever made. Views were great. Not too far from down town. Definitely would recommend.
Very comfortable hotel conveniently located in downtown Monterey and short distance from 17 Mile Drive. Rooms are spacious and staff is very friendly. Room amenities are: individual sized coffee pot and mini fridge as well as standard hair dryer, toiletries and iron. Microwaves can be delivered to your room by request at no additional cost. The Marriott has a bar and serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and other meals. It is connected to the Monterey Convention Center so if you are attending a conference, this is the best place to be. If you need parking, be aware, only valet parking is available at $40 per day with in and out privileges. There are a couple parking garages with hourly rates within a couple block walk, they do not have in and out privileges. Valet service takes about 10-15 minutes to get your car depending on time of day. Mornings were a little longer wait. Wifi is not free unless you are a Bonvoy Member, you can sign up on the spot. Would stay here again.
Best Western Plus Monterey Inn has the potential of being a good hotel provided it addresses several problems. On the plus side the rooms are comfortable, good coffee and tea service available 24 hours, filtered water machine in the lobby helps avoid waste. Unfortunately the breakfast is worse than what I experienced in the past at Best Westerns with very few options to choose from. The hot tub was broken - this was not mentioned when the reservation was made. The pool was not properly heated nor cleaned. Requesting identification while asking for pool towels makes guests feel unwelcome. Addressing these problems is not difficult and would help improve the overall experience of staying at this hotel.
ゲゲストNeeded a ”reasonable” room price and this location offered that. All my typical locations for Monterey/Pacific Grove were extremely high due to the Women's US Open which was being contested at Pebble Beach. Typical rates in the past were suddenly 40 to 59% higher! Tired looking hotel and rooms definitely could use an upgrade. Bed was so-so and room smell a bit musty. Traveling solo as a volunteer for the golf just needed a room with proximity to the golf course and a place to crash. Would I take my wife here for a get-way...No.
MMarkM528The hotel is a reasonable stop. A 'get what you pay for hotel' In my opinion it could do with a bit of an update, it just looks a bit old and worn. The bed was comfortable enough and the room had a bit of space too it which was good but again was a bit tired. My main gripe with this hotel was the breakfast, it was basic at best and the hotel sausage/egg/bacon rolls weren't the best, I did like the pancake machine though. There is plenty of parking around the hotel, we never struggled for a space regardless of what time we were coming and going. The pool although it did the trick was a bit on the small size. Something I do want to mention was the staff, they were brilliant, honestly so friendly, so very helpful and polite, the hotel should be proud of their staff I couldn't complain about them at all. There is a Dennys next door if you want an evening meal that's less than a minute walk from the front door so there's no need to drive, there's also Monterey Town/aquarium and a few nice beaches a few minutes drive from the hotel. My kids loved your Fish in the lobby that's a really nice touch!
This is a very fine motel - it provides a spotless room, free parking, and no pet fee - for a very reasonable price. Based on this great first experience, I will always try to find a Red Roof Inn when I am on the road.
