This was the first of 3 hotels we stayed at over 6 nights. It is an older hotel but has been maintained. Only complaint we were not able to control the a/c unit in the room. They staff does speak English and are friendly and knowledgeable. They have an excellent Breakfast buffest each morning with was included in our rate. The roof top looks like they might be doing some work on. but is accessible , provides a view of Barranquilla *( best to see at night the city lights) . The pool is on the 3rd level with a bar area also ( not sure of the hours for the bar) is a decent size.
This hotel was completely disgusting, full of mould and damp throughout the hotel. The restaurant floor appeared not to have been cleaned for many months as the dirt was really ground in, the nets and curtains were also mouldy and filthy too. We had to change rooms twice due to the fact that my husband was struggling to breath due too the conditions. The gym was completely filthy and the breakfast was the same each day, and they did not have anything Vegan for me either. There was nothing nice about this hotel. The restaurant menu was dreadful, old and uninviting. The staff were slow to respond to any asks. The bath had obvious cracks in it, however they had just been painted over. This hotel needs a lot of money spent on it to firstly address the mould and damp issues. The replies to the reviews from the hotel stated that they were in the process of completing some maintenance work, almost 2 years ago, however this place has not been touched in any aspect for many, many years! AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU DON'T WANT TO POTENTIALLY BECOME ILL!! This hotel is down as a 3/4 star, but 1.5 at the very best. I have always been fair around my reviews, so for me to write this, it was absolutely dire 😔
It's an old hotel construction, but superbly maintained. Parque floors. Espectacular arquitecture! Comfy clean rooms. Awesome staff, and the breakfast with local meals and treats, is a whole new experience. Every day you hear nice salsa music all over the pool bar.

Great location and close to everything we wanted to do while visiting. Easy walk to many restaurants. Good hotel breakfast with lots of selections. Shout out to Mayerly Vasquez; always very attentive and coffee cup was never empty. We also utilized the gym which was nice to have; however, it definitely needs some improvements - no TV, very warm, sometimes no water available and equipment is old. I recommend this hotel and will go back for sure.
After staying more than a week in mediocre hotels as a tourist this Ibis is a whole relief. Back to European standards with a modern designed hotel and modern rooms, buffet breakfast, so all you can eat, instead of the tiny breakfast at most B&B's. Location close to a modern big mall. Standard room is ok with a good bathroom, bed a bit too hard and the biggest downside you can't open a window, which is noticeable in the hallways as well, a particular smell as there is never fresh air coming in. Free indoor parking available, good wifi.
Saturday September 16 - Receptionist was extremely rude questioning why I was in the country and my documentation. I asked about my reservation, my family member needed a place to stay for two nights. Since one of my initial reservations was two queen beds I asked if that was easier or just adding the room. My reservation was for 1 person, with a king sized bed. The receptionist said I had to pay in full at once for my 1 person, with a king sized bed room. Come to find she charged me an additional $500 from the original reservation. I was stuck paying for a double room for 8 nights at $500 more than any reservation I already had. When I questioned the cost, that they had already charged to my accounts, I was told I needed to contact the third party company I had booked through or could leave but there are no refunds. Last year when I visited this hotel we were treated with kindness and respect, which is why I chose to return. This time I was treated like a criminal. Once to our room, there was a lizard in the room!!! Running around!!! Extremely frustrated and scared, I returned to the reception to share my findings for them to roll their eyes and change my room. They said lizards are native to the land and very common. At dinner - The waiter dropped waters on my aunt, then forgot my other aunts meal, then the manager came to argue about tips because my mom wanted to confirm the tip went to our waiter after over hearing the manager shout at the employee. The manager said he gets his cuts and the tips are distributed through the entire staff whether she likes it or not. Friday September 22 - During my breakfast I was not acknowledged by any employees. As I almost finished my meal..There were cockroaches crawling around the tables .. At the end of the night, as I arrived to the hotel room, I asked for toiletries as the given quantities are minimal and so with this heat I find myself showering at least twice/day - Then the attendant asked why I was using so many toiletries. September 22 - I sent 3 clothing items to the laundry - My bodysuit (blouse) was ruined. It was returned with yellow bleach stains all over the straps. This is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever experienced at any hotel in my entire life.
The hotel is located a couple of block from a very nice shopping center with plenty of restaurants and shops. The hotel is very nice as you would expect a HGI to be. I would say it is even nicer than the same hotel brand in the US. The price was very reasonable. The hotel staff was very professional and courteous. The breakfast was very good. You can order eggs any style you like. It offers some items from the typical food from the region although that would be the one aspect I would say the hotel could increase its wow factor. I definitely would recommend this hotel and would return when I travel to Barranquilla.
Las habitaciones son amplias, pero tienen problemas con los aires acondicionados. El servicio de cambio de toallas se demora incluso horas. El servicio del bar del último piso muy lento y muy costoso para lo que entregan. La piscina es muy pequeña, algo sucia y no hay sillas para broncearse. La fiesta de San Silvestre muy mala, mal servicio, mal lugar, mala música. El desayuno muy rico y variado.

Faranada colletion Barranquilla definitivamente superó mis expectativas, el hotel es muy hermoso, sus camas extremadamente comodas, la calides y amabilidad del equipo se sintieron desde el check in hasta el check out, siempre dispuestos a servir y hacer sentir al huésped especial, shirly, zamir, Nayla y Alexandra fueron super atentos y sonrientes en todo momento, espero regresar pronto y volver a disfrutar de este magnífico hotel.
My staying at the hotel was great , great customer service , great breakfast, employees at the front desk are helpful , the internet was good. My room was excellent, clean sheets daily , bathroom is super clean. And the location is superb you are close to almost anything in the north . The restaurant is good .
