Uplands Inn Cartmel

From the moment we arrived Al and Sue made us feel welcome. Stunning views and a great location to explore South Lakes. We stayed over in our motorhome on the carpark - which is flat, spacious and has great views over the bay. Would recommend to anyone with a motorhome or campervan for a pub stopover. Nice homemade food, excellent service and a roaring fire. What more could you want!?

We had a lovely time at Uplands. Our room was cosy, scrupulously clean and the view was magnificent. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower efficient and easy to operate. Although the weather wasn’t brilliant it really didn’t matter as we enjoyed sitting by the wood burning stove and chatting to the owners. Sue, Allan,Dylan,Denise and Matthew made us very welcome providing an efficient but unobtrusive service

Fabulous stay at Uplands. We were greeted by Denise and shown to our room ‘Kent’. It was a beautifully warm room fully equipped with everything we needed for our 2 day stay including a massive comfortable bed with super soft bedding. After unpacking and freshening up we spent the evening in the restaurant and bar with the most amazing warm and friendly Allan & Sue, the hotel’s proprietors. We chose to stay onsite for evening meals as Sue is a fabulous chef and offered plenty of variety at a very reasonable cost. I loved the spicy carbonara and the homemade onion rings were fabulous. Breakfast service was great, pre ordered the night before and you select the time you’d like to eat so you can ensure everything is fresh off the grill. Uplands has the most amazing views and is about a mile from the Cartmel centre & Grange on Sands with all its beautiful boutique shops both worth a visit. Did we love it? yes we did. Will we be back? 100% we’ll be returning next year. You feel all your stresses lifting as you reach the Lake District and with Allan & Sue you know 100% you’ll be well looked after. Looking forward to planning our next visit already

Fabulous break in super location; swift check in ; amazing staff; super, lovely sized room with amazing views ; excellent breakfast and dinners with great service ; nice lounge; high level of cleanliness throughout the hotel , good parking; tidy grounds and outdoor seating . A friendly, comfortable hotel .Thoroughly recommend 👌

We had a wonderful stay all round. The Uplands Inn is a gorgeous place in the most beautiful setting. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful and being dog friendly without restrictions is wonderful. I should also mention that the eggs florentine are not to be missed!!

Two night stay in the lovely Leven room with views to die for even on a misty morning. Plenty of parking, check in was quick and easy with a very warm greeting and welcome, room has everything that you need for your stay with a very comfortable bed. This is a family run hotel and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and your stay enjoyable. The walk down to Cartmel is quite easy but the walk back certainly gets the old heart pumping.
