At first glance, the room was nice. The floor had been updated with gray wood-look laminate or vinyl and the bathroom sink had a beautiful black granite countertop and new bowl sink, but the faucet looked original to 30 years ago. During my first shower, my heel punched through the very old, thin fiberglass tub. (I am an average-sized woman, NOT overweight.) I dried and taped it with packing tape when I got out and notified the front desk immediately. Employees were good but management was horrid. The owner/manager (?) came about 20 hours later to put a stronger fiberglass tape on it, and complained to me about a similar event in another room where the patron did not notify them. Even though I had tried to minimize the water that leaked under the tub, we discovered that water had seeped under the entire floor of the bedroom and wicked up between the floor boards. Again, we notified the front desk immediately but no action was taken. We simply mopped the floor frequently and wore shoes to avoid soppy socks and slipping. To add insult to injury, we had booked the room spur-of-the-moment due to a medical emergency, and were charged $282.49 per night for an $80 room because the Formula One races were in town. I requested a reasonable rate due to the issues and my honorable response, but the co-owners each told me to talk to the other, deflected, and ignored my request. They seem to be more focused on money than maintenance and integrity, so I am concerned that they will fix (or patch) the tub but leave the floor with a potential mold problem. (We could already smell the mold when we left after day 3.) Beware of room 110.
