As many of the other reviews state this hotel is not in the old city - it is a 20min walk (about 2km) down to the old city, which in the heat of the midday sun can be an issue for some, particularly if you are trekking uphill back to the hotel. The best alternative option is to catch the #4 bus from the Pile Gate and then get off on the 4th stop which is 100m away from the hotel (4min bus ride). There are not a large number of reasonable restaurants close by and the on-premises Bosnian restaurant (Taj Mahal) cannot be booked to the room. It is a mid-range hotel built in the 1970s, so it does have an older feel. It is not that large, with just over 150 rooms but larger than the boutique hotels we were used to staying it on our Croatian trip. We stayed in one of their classic rooms - without any view (unless you count the adjoining building as a view). The double bed was just two single beds pushed together, which meant disappearing down the crevice in-between regularly during the night. I'd suggest booking a superior room, which are larger, more modern, in the newer wing of the hotel and include a bathtub. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and relatively fast. The air conditioning only be turned on when the room key was inserted, which meant, dependent on the room orientation, you could come back to a warm room which might take some time to cool down. They only supplied one bottle of water for entire stay, which they could easily address. The swimming pool is fairly small, almost always in shade and can only be accessed via the lobby (doesn't have any change facilities by the pool). We arrived in the morning, well before the 2pm check-in, and whilst they stored our luggage and offered us use of the pool whilst we waited there really wasn't anywhere to get changed and take up the offer. The breakfast, included in the room tariff, was a reasonable quality with a relatively choice of options however it didn't vary at all during our five-day stay. The lobby/foyer can get congested at times when larger tour groups arrive, with all their luggage in tow. The staff were polite and endeavoured to help us where they could. Not my favourite accommodation in Croatia but serviceable for what we needed.
Good hotel in the port area. Easy access downtown, bus stop at 20m and several buses to take you to the old town. Room was spacious and comfortable but black curtains were not so black and light came thru early in the morning. Shower's floor was extremely slippery and had to put towels on it to prevent us from sliding. Breakfast is buffet, expensive, children at 12 pay like an adult and it is not that abundant, not many choices. Several places in the area where you can have a nice coffee though. Overall It was OK.
We stayed in a Superior Double room. Room was very spacious with a balcony, a large seating area and bathroom. Though our room was facing the street, the soundproof was good. Bedding, shower and air-conditioning were excellent. Location was good and convenient from the bus terminal. We walked to the old town which was around 30 minutes. We also took buses to/from old town. To go old town, bus stop just located a minute’ walk from hotel. On the way back, the stop located around 3-minutes walk. There’s a Tommy supermarket nearby that bus stop. Breakfast was standard but with good enough choices. But I would suggest the hotel to have covered the food as there were few like small mosquitoes/sciaroidea fly on food. Anyway, we had a very comfortable stay. Recommended!
Stayed here for 7 nights in September. The hotel was absolutely lovely and all the staff we came into contact with were friendly, professional and helpful. We stayed in a superior room on the first floor, which was very nice. The only thing I would say, is that someone shorter in height or with mobility issues might find the bath (with overhead shower) a bit high to get in and out of easily. The breakfast was wonderful and had plenty on offer. We found it was much better to be served at the table rather than buffet. It was also nice that it was opened until 11am. All the outside areas were well maintained and pretty. The pool was excellent too. The hotel fronts the marina and it is very easy to walk to Sunset beach. The Old Town is very easy to get to either walking (I think it took us a 45 minute stroll), bus or uber. I would highly recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
ゲゲストOk so this was my two year delayed honeymoon and I couldn't have been happier with the hotel. I found it to be exceptionally clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, the views were amazing and the food topnotch. We had Bed and breakfast booked, I found the breakfast to be incredibly generous in the options possible. I was so pleased to see a gluten-free section being the daughter of a coeliy, that showed how aware the hotel is of people's needs. One small criticism is how busy it was; in terms of a larger area is needed to accommodate everyone who is staying! The staff also need more help in clearing tables and re-laying them as most people want to be outside. We ate a few of the restaurants and now need to be on a diet at they were exceptional! A shout out to the housekeeper Marina on 7th floor as she is so brilliant and looked after our room and us. It seems not many by guests say hello to her, we always do to all staff and that seemed to make her very happy. All in all an amazing place, thank you Royal Neptun, thank you Dubrovnik and thank you Croatia for amazing times. Use Uber as brilliant and get on the tours as so worth learning about this incredible place.
JjiakailiI had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was very spacious, clean, and well-organized, with a spotless bathroom. Its location in the heart of Old Town made it incredibly convenient to explore the area, as everything was within easy reach. The host was exceptionally kind, hospitable, and attentive to details, which added to the overall comfort of the stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Old Town!
ゲゲストThe Royal Palm is set a little outside the city alongside the coast in a complex of three other ‘royal’ hotels that provided a number of bars and restaurants to choose from throughout the day. This choice extends to the pools and gyms as well. Lovely well appointed and clean rooms. The en suite was well equipped and modern. Great sea views as well. The staff both in the restaurant and reception couldn’t have been more helpful. First time in Croatia. Lovely country, Dubrovnik city was really Beautiful. Most days busy from the cruise ships but its didn’t detract from the place.
If you're travelling to Dubrovnik and stairs aren't your nemesis you couldn't stay in a better hotel. Armin welcomed us with the biggest smile and made sure we felt at home from the first moment we arrived and he carried our bags up to the room which made life much easier. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for the stay, we were worried about street noise when we arrived although the window was open at the time and with it closed there wasn't a problem. The location is great, you're a couple of minutes walk from everything. The only issue could be the stairs you've got to deal with but that is the case with everything in Dubrovnik and should always be taken into account. When checking out if you've got to get your bags up any sort of Dubrovnik lane-ways I would recommend investing in one of the local luggage porter services.
