Dated and not worth the price. Situated in a beautiful spot, with a small beach. Grounds are well appointed and the landscaping is top notch - gorgeous. The staff are friendly. The room was large and has a small balcony overlooking trees. The bed was terribly uncomfortable (king) and the pillows were not lush or particularly soft. The room temperature was tough to get right (old window style unit air conditioner). The walls are extremely thin (we stayed in the Rose building). We could hear our upstairs neighbor walking, opening closet doors, and chatter through the night (we were in the first floor). The carpeting is old and dated. For the amount of money we paid for one night ($900+) we expected more. Seems like the rooms have not been updated in years. Furniture is pretty 80s. No complimentary coffee in lobby (keurig available in room). Shower leaked onto floor. Most odd was that once we returned for the evening, the turn down service attendant put all of our cosmetics, toothbrushes, personal items back into our cosmetic luggage bags. It was unsettling. There was an employ soap box floating in the toilet. Worth a day visit but not worth the cost.

We stayed here with our kids for a few nights. We enjoy the simple elegance of this five star resort. Check in is a simple cottage room without pomp or circumstance. If you didn’t see the Forbes Five-Star plaque posted discretely off to the right side of the lobby entry, you would never know. Unlike Chatham Bars Inn, where you are forced to walk through their entire check-in building through groups of dressed up patrons and diners, Wequassett seems to say “our service speaks for itself.” The staff is friendly and eager to please, from the door attendants at the front eager to help you with luggage or give you a ride in a golf cart to your room, to the housekeeping staff that smile and greet you as you walk around the property. The rooms overlooking the water are starting to wear a bit, and the paint was pealing on our shower ceiling, but the amenities and views made up for it. The food is amazing as well. Lastly, the landscaping on this property is some of the best I have seen. We stayed here years ago for a wedding and I remembered it from then, and I appreciated it even more this time around.

This place is very nice! More so for the summer months. Went for the Christmas festivities which were very nice. The issue is the place is small and to have a big crowd of people, there really wasn't any place you could just sit inside. We tried both bar areas, but they were packed. and nobody was moving, even though they were not drinking or eating. Spent most of the time outside, in the cold as a paying customer. Once we finally got a seat in Thoreau's bar, it is tiny ( 8 seats at the bar) and the poor bartender was so busy it took awhile to get a drink. We didn't want to eat, so we had no where else to go. Probably best not to go when they have a big event, if you are staying there. Staff was great! 5 stars for sure for them. Room was good, plenty of room and good size bathroom.

We have been celebrating our daughter's birthday every year at this amazing property with our family! The memories created are just priceless. This is the gift that she would not want to change and another successful stay we just enjoyed this past weekend! Thank you to all the team to make it happen!

I was here for a conference in early fall, and only used my room, meeting, and meal facilities. Very comfortable rooms and facilities. Attentive staff at meals. Room temp control sometimes moved above or below my set point, even though outside temp didn't vary much. I would like to visit for leisure in summer, when I would use more outdoor space and waterfront.

The good: nice location, views are beautiful and Thoreau's a great tiny bar with a warm vibe for the fall/winter months. The Bad: Very expensive. When in your room, you can hear everything from your neighboring room. Walls are thin; we could hear them as if they were sharing our room! We could also hear the people above us walking back and forth across their room. It really makes you feel so uncomfortable.
