ホテル ヴィラ カニョーラ(Villa Cagnola)

Wow...what an amazing hotel in an amazing location. The building, garden and grounds are stunning. Service was excellent as were all the staff.

We arrived late and the restaurant was just closed. However, the kitchen arranged us a very delicious meal! We were so thankful for that. The breakfast was plenty and the staff in the breakfast room was very attentive and took good care of the visitors. As an example, the waitress drew curtains on the window when she noticed that the morning sun started to blind us. The parking places were scattered around the building and even in the forest. It was a bit unexpected. I think the Villa is used primarily for events and weddings. Unfortunately, we did not have time to explore the surroundings. I think it is pretty around there. The village looks really nice.

Upon arrival the front desk staff were nice but not very welcoming. They handed us our room key and didn’t tell us anything about the amenities or free breakfast at the hotel. We had to keep asking questions. The rooms were clean but the carpet is old and stained in the rooms and hallways. The AC did not work in our room. We chose this hotel to stay one night before flying out of Milan. It was fine for that but would not stay here for a vacation. We walked to town and that had little to offer as well.

Beautiful facility; I wish we'd have had more time to explore. Price was reasonable compared to places closer to city, but taxi cost to get there was 90 Euro. Fascinating history was explained with great pride by lady at front desk. The breakfast was lovely. Within walking distance of train station, but there are no station personnel, so know what train you need.

We did not stay in the adjacent hotel. We came for a visit to the collection---open twice a month on Sundays. This is now some kind of conference center for religious purposes but there's an art and porcelain collection in some splendid rooms in the historic villa. There is also a modern chapel, calm, peaceful, and with cleverly arranged views of nature. A cafe-restaurant is available, The views to the distant lake from the formal garden are impressive.

Consiglio vivamente di prenotare la seconda o quarta domenica di ogni mese, per visitare il museo privato di Villa Cagnola! Molto interessante; abbiamo trovato una guida super esperta e non annoiante. L’interno è ricco di collezioni di ceramiche, maioliche,porcellane, per non dire le famose opere del Bellini, Bernardino Luini ecc. Poi una volta usciti, fatevi una bellissima passeggiata ..c’e’ un paesaggio mozzafiato che da’ sul lago. Da non perdere!

Ottimo albergo in villa storica con panorama sul lago di Varese con piccola pinacoteca e la possibilità di fare escursioni nel parco della villa, raggiungibile anche a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria di Gazzada-Schianno-Morazzone. Ottima e abbondante colazione.
